OK, so, according to the latest blog post, Nightcrawler's little group is some weird cross between X-Com and the SCP Foundation. How did I reach this little conclusion?

The latest blog post says that they're getting laser guns.

Anyone else thinking this blog has officially jumped the shark?

I figured they were going for an SCP style group for a while, but yeah, the laser guns caught me off guard.
If they can find a way to make the laser guns work, then that would be cool. Otherwise, yes, this would be the exact moment we could look back and say they jumped the shark.

Not complaining about the lasers, just the way they're putting it into the Slender Man universe. Personally, I love lasers as much as any fan of sci-fi games and movies. But, this ain't makin' sense.

Also, could you elaborate on 'if they can find a way to make the lasers work?' Not getting that, Mr. Omega.

If they make it work for the story. If it reads well, I honestly don't care about how little sense it makes. Though making laser guns work in a setting like this would be incredibly difficult; I'm remaining optimistic that they'll pull it off, but at the same time, I wouldn't put any money down on it.

Eh, this series jumped the shark for me when I realized there was some sort of anti-paranormal agency involved. Government funding and the supernatural only go together in comedy. I could never take a series like this serious for the same I could never take X-files serious: breaking my suspension of disbelief.

Well, it's been stated on a few occasions that they're not government-controlled. Definitely an organized group dealing with multiple problems, since that's been said by that Specter guy over and over again.

But yeah, this is losing me right now. The group I could take. Lasers, nnot so much.

Aye, I just used "government funded" in general to mean "paranormal related organization."

A better way to put it would be: the most believable "paranormal related organization" I've seen in stories so far is the Ghostbusters. Because it was a comedy. But that's just me.

Yeah, I can sympathize. But, I can honestly see a paranormal group looking into this kind of thing. It's when they break out the SCIENCE to deal with it that it gets alittle annoying if, up til this point, it hasn't had a hint of it. The lasers are a bit of a ssudden 'WTF' moment.

I love this blog. XD It's so insane and totally not what you'd expect from a Slendyblog. I love it so much.

I suppose the nice thing about this series is that if you start up a Slendy blog and for whatever reason you realise you can't keep going with it - maybe because you suddenly don't have time, or you've run out of ideas, or whatever - you can see about having Nightcrawler whack your main character as a means of bringing your blog to an abrupt close which doesn't involve you going OH SHIT SLENDER MAN'S AT THE DOOR GOT TO GO BUT NOT BEFORE WRITING ABOUT HOW SLENDER MAN IS AT THE DOOR AND POSTING IT TO THE INTERNET.
