[OT] First occurance of the word "Enhotenate"

I'd like to give props to krystyn who is the first person to use the word "enhotenate" here on unfiction.

Linkage

I'm a geek I admit it, but Search is cool. Wink

Edit: apparently misused META tag. Confused (no, really, I'm confused).

{Edit - And maybe just [OT] not [META] as well?}

Hmmm, Frankie wrote that on the 5th of Sept on the HaloPlanet forums

It was written here on the first of Sept.

W007 Very Happy we've added something to Frankie's vocabulary. Smile

I don't mean to be a butthead, but I said "enhottenate" in the chat room back in August.

I know it seems silly, and I thank Cortana and Krystyn for propagating it. Smile

Here's proof:

"...I don't mean to be a butthead, but ..." thanks for your ego, please go re-read my post. I said "first use here on unfiction." I could care less about where the word came from. I doubt you were the first person to use it even there.

my grandfather was a child of the depression and a lifelong republican. our talks influenced my early political thinking before i became more independent and out of sync with the any political party.

anyway, he was always talking about FDR and FDR's failures as he desperately tried to "enhotenate" the 1930s economy.

i think he used that term. or it might have been a word FDR used to describe his programs...

were you guys ghosting his chatter?

Laughing open my mouth and along comes someone to prove my point. Very Happy

I certainly wasn't ghosting his chatter Mann Alive.. I first saw the word here on unfiction. That's why I took the time to give kudos, cause shortly after I saw Krystyn post it, I noticed that a lot of people started using the word.

The meme had spread. Very Happy

The topic is [OT] First occurance of the word "Enhotenate" (sp).

The wiki at http://ilb.extrasonic.com/index.php/Enhottenate incorrectly indicates Krysten is the coiner of the term.

And though I do not have logs from the IRC channel, I can say with full confidence that I coined the term there first on/around Aug 25th.

Credit where credit is due, that's all I'm trying to say.

Okay, so let's change it to say she was the first to say it in the Unforums.

I'm not responsible for ilb.extrasonic.

Additionally, the length of the title is insufficient to be more specific. That's a board design "flaw", and only a flaw in this case, since you want to enforce such a high level of accuracy.

I'd suggest to anyone who needs more detail that they read the posts. And pay attention to the fact that I did say above "on the forums." And "Enhotenate" is how she spelled it when she first used the term.

I am. (Well, one of them, anyway.) Updated at 12:19 PDT today. I believe that credit is quite important; every little bit contibutes torwards one's 15 minutes of fame. Besides, it's just about the only tangible reward one can receive for participation -- apart from the inherent reward of enjoying the ARG itself, of course.

If there is a general consensus on the "proper" spelling of the term, I'll be happy to change that as well. (It doesn't seem significant enough to warrant a separate "Poll" topic, though. Mr. Green )
