Given how things are going, it might turn out that both Evans are the real Evan, just not the same real Evan. Makes as much sense as a beach in an abandoned basement at any rates.

I'm gonna guess that, on retrospect, the Evan that tried to beat the Slenderman silly with a baseball bat might not be the anti-slendy Evan, since that one seemed much too paranoid to actually confront it. Also, this could explain how the knife obsession (to me anyway) seems to come and go at random over the course of the videos.

Okay so, this is probably has nothing to do with anything, but I can't get it out of my mind. The first thing I thought of when Evan says "fish" was Bioshock. In which, the main character's airplane crashes into the ocean, and he finds an underwater city that's gone to shit called Rapture. In the opening tutorial-ish level, when the main character first uses ADAM (I think?), another character walks by and refers to him as a little fish. The main character is new and completely alien to the batshit crazy that is Rapture, which reminds me of EMH and this so-called tournament. And if anything, I'm pretty sure Bioshock takes place in either 1960 or 1970, which is (kinda) near the patients' timelines.

Anyway, it's probably nothing, but I figured I would mention it anyway. :p

Blight's right; it's very common to call someone who is 'new' at something a 'fish'. Why, I don't know, but the same thing happens in Shawshank. The new prisoners are referred to as 'fresh fish'.
