Definitely agree with that. Evan's obsession with Damsel is telling too, imo. We've seen him defend her repeatedly, so that has to mean something.

A THEORY: Is Evan's obsession to Damsel Slendy-based? Does Slender consider Damsel the 'one who got away', and his...attention to her translate to Evan's obsession with her? Damsel stated previously that she knew nothing of the EMH crew, but despite her not knowing them, Evan seemed to fixate on her. Was that the Slenderman, 'talking' through Evan, so to speak?

Slenderman allowed her to get away. He sent her to the EverymanHYBRID crew.

I can agree with half of this, but not so sure if he sent her to them - they seemed to stumble onto her. I'm not sure, really - we know Damsel was friends with Jessa, who was Jeff's girlfriend. Either way, I'm not sure how it ties together. IF the boys already had a connection to SM through HABIT, from their youth, why would there be a need for Damsel at all?

I like that theory a lot. I'm also going to dust off something I offered a few thousand pages back that didn't seem to gain any traction:

We know from one of Didz's emails with Alex that Evan was a late addition to the group. Jeff and Vince pretty much grew up together, as I recall, but Evan only came along in high school.

It's possible that Evan grew up in the area too but went to a different school than the other boys until high school. It's also possible, though, that his family only moved to New Jersey a few years ago.

It is within the realm of possibility, then, that Evan and Damsel were well acquainted with each other back in Birmingham. We know that Jeff has been withholding information, it's not a stretch that Evan has his secrets as well.

(I can't get a good handle on Evan's accent, so I don't know whether that would have to be handwaved. Many of the local Birmingham accents don't sound at all like a stereotypical "Southern" accent, so that's not necessarily a strike against. I don't know NJ accents at all, other than the cartoon Jersey Shore accent, so I can't tell whether Evan's is purely local or if it's inflected by time spent elsewhere.)

 		She does say "I was alone and He told me to go north," so I'm sure Slender Man had some sort of reason for sending her to where the EMH crew live. Whether he wanted to use her to "get to" the EMH boys or he just wanted them all in one place for some reason is still unclear.

I think of it like focusing a microscope. First you use the big knob to get the lens close to where you want it, then you use the fine control knob to get it exactly where you want it.

"GO NORTH, YOUNG DAMSEL" = big knob
manipulating Jessa/Damsel/Hybrids into meeting = fine knob

As to why? It's hard to say, since we have no clue whatsoever what the big picture is at this point. It's possible that Slendy knew he'd be able to puppetize Damsel if he ever needed to, and it might be a good idea to first use her to unknowingly infiltrate the EMH group and then become a mole.

If Damsel was the "XXXXX" in the VII Corenthal note, that means that Slendy was leading her back to her foster brothers (in a sense). Trying to get them all together. If Slendy and the Rake are a team, then Rake was leading Linnie to them too- getting the team all back together.

EDIT: Mattwan made me realize: if this is true, then Jessa meeting Damsel is another bone for the Jessa = Linnie theory.

^ This is the disconnect here, for me. According to Damsel, she knew none of the EMH crew - so she either honestly didn't know Evan, or she lied about not knowing Evan - both are possible.

^ As someone from the South, and who has heard several Southern accents, I can honestly say that Evan sounds nothing like any Southern accents I've ever heard. However, it IS possible that he was maybe raised in the South, but moved at a young age(if we agree that he's at least 19+) like, say, 8ish up north? His accent would have been obliterated by now.

If Damsel was the "XXXXX" in the VII Corenthal note, that means that Slendy was leading her back to her foster brothers (in a sense). Trying to get them all together. If Slendy and the Rake are a team, then Rake was leading Linnie to them too- getting the team all back together.


Spinning off this, maybe Damsel and Evan are like the Wonder Twins, except when they come together they don't make purple animals and ice sculptures, they allow HABIT to manifest. Maybe Slendy sent Damsel north so he could get one of his (hostile) allies on the field.

I'm not sure about this, if only because if we're right in that Evan = HABIT in the latest video, Damsel was nowhere to be found. However, I find it strange that Evan/Habit was alone in the house, where Jeff was, and ---

....Do we know WHERE that footage was shot, by any chance? I mean, what were Evan and Jeff doing alone in a house together anyway?

My simile was misleading. Smile If that's what they were going for, and I'm not at all convinced that it is, it would be more like Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis in Ghostbusters--once the keymaster and the gate come together, the beast is loosed and no longer needs the humans to sustain its existence.

And you raise an excellent question--why were they both in the house together? Was that Jeff's house? If so, why was Evan just chiling and getting possessed by an otherworldly pirate while having a conversation with an invisible man?

Let me watch some of the vids and get back to you on this. Going to see if I can't get an idea of who's house is who's/who lives with who.
