While not much is currently known about this creature, you can expect to create a massive excretion in your undergarments whenever you hear his noises or see him hunting.

Notably, the Rake is more communicative than Slendy. There's a certain degree of verbal entrancement that goes on between the Rake's prey and the creature itself. Generally, the Rake seems a more earthly monster than the alien and distant Slender Man, preferring less subtle methods to drive its prey to madness, suicide, and destruction. Still scary as all hell though.

As for what the original Rake is? I'm not sure. Something that while beastly and cruel, was more after keeping what it felt was his, for instance in the original story it forced an entire ship to leave an area of land alone and return to England, rather than actively causing fear. I certainly don't think it lives on fear.

As for the EMH Rake? I think he is either the back end of Slenderman torture, what a person becomes when they loose everything; and is now acting as his attack dog

or

a weaker, native American equivalent of Slenderman, who is just invading, or perhaps thinks he is reclaiming, territory from the foreign Slenderman.
