Recipe3 and Hints

I am leaning toward Harmony or Troy for the same reason that they were mentioned in the new wav file...though there are still 2 files we DON'T have that might have the clue...

vortech: any human from that timeline might know that Troy was saved, but possibly not the circumstances....i.e. what ship specifically decoded the Covenant transmission.

What planet were we able to save? Troy

What planet were we unable to save? Harmony

How many ais can fit on the end of a 9-pin serial connector? pi^3 (fractional ai's are incompletely coded)

How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? 3

Pretty sure you've got that backwards, Ariock. Troy fell, Harmony didn't. Listen to the toast in Alt_Burgundy.

Yeah, although they were able to evacuate at least some people, I thought Troy was glassed.

You rock! Worshippy 8 days before it happened! Hmm, any chance of telling me what the next lotto numbers will be?

What is YOUR favorite game? (!)

My brother-in-law lives near an Axon, and he volunteered to answer the phone this time. He's not in on the whole game, he just knew to answer the game question as "hide and seek". Then, something unexpected happened. He says it went something like this:

caller: What is YOUR favorite game?
listener (confused): duh, um, Halo 2?
caller: What is your rank?
listener (flummoxed) : Uhh....
caller: Obviously, this message was not meant for you. Goodbye.

His axon went hot okay, so he got the first question right. Apparently, he got one of the surprise offers to add his name to the game.

If you look on the site, Mike_Was and Chappy both have prefixes. Chappy is a Master Chief (others have this as well, but these two are from my city). I was wondering if they were asked for their rank, or something else like that.

If I did that, the brain ninjas would be after me.

Will there be a question? She seems to trust us as her crew now. Or some as her crew anyways.

Question

There will probably be a question for GPS sites. She has to verify who is answering those. Those with crew names probably won't get questions.

If I am lucky enough to get the "long conversation" call (I maintain that ALL the calls are live conversations with Melissa the AI from the future!) what if I answer: Name = Greene, Rank = Captain? Might I then be able to give her orders and take over the whole game? Twisted Evil

More likely it would just get me a new membership in "Failures Anonymous"! Laughing

I've been straying away from the idea of people using the same ranks as those from Melissa's memories. No one has yet, but I have a feeling she may react unfavorably to whoever might try to take advantage. From what I remember, that would be:
Captain
1st Lieutenant
ONI Technician
Midshipman
Using the same rank AND name may be a different story. It is possible that Melissa will think something of it, but then you would lose your chance at having your own handle being acknowledged by the Operator. Then again, she might just say the voice doesn't sound familiar and hang up.
And just to throw another question in, if you want to believe the Halo Library then:
Q: Where were we returning to?
A: Troy
