[SPEC] The official Halo 2 and I Love Bees connection

I've been slowly re-reading The Fall of Reach and First Strike over the past couple of weeks trying to glean any possible details that would shed light on the stories we've been getting through the axons, and I thought I'd share some of my findings:

First off in The Fall of Reach (first edition, page 268), Cortana "ghosts" a Colonel by the name of Ackerson. It describes a "ghost" as "an electronic footprint that identified the source of the alterations: Ackerson's personal-computer pad."
Obviously if you change personal-computer pad to chatter, you have what Kamal is so handy at doing.

WARNING The entire rest of this post is possible Halo 2 story spoiler. DO NOT READ ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IF YOU WISH FOR YOUR HALO 2 SINGLE PLAYER EXPERIENCE TO BE UNSPOILED.

The sound file in recipe3.html 'harmony' has the following quote from the "Cranky Old Man" presumably from ONI:

Quote:
Like a new piece of Covenent technology capable of crippling an entire solar system's C&C channels.

In First Strike, the final peice of Halo fiction that takes place before the start of Halo 2 (that has been announced thus far), the Epilogue talks about the massive security measures that are surrounding the Covenant homeworld.

Quote:
A hundred thousand probes darted and scanned with winking electronic eyes across the void of tangled nonspaces enveloping the Covenant inner empire. They gathered data and emerged into the cold vacuum, where they were recovered by the hundreds of supercarriers and cruisers in station-keeping positions around the massive, bulbous planetoid that dominated the heavens.

Not a single rock larger than a centimeter could enter this space without being indentified, targeted, and vaporized. Authorization codes were updated hourly, and if any incoming vessel hesitated for a millisecond with the proper response, it, too, met unyielding destruction.

In The Fall of Reach, The Master Chief and his SPARTAN-II buddies were given the mission of capturing a Covenant vessel, finding and warping to the Covenant homeworld, and encapturing a Covenant prophet, or general/high priest/whatever. A head of the Covenant. This mission was scrubbed when Reach was attacked and subsequently defeated by the Covenant, and soon after The Pillar of Autumn (the ship that contained the Chief in Halo) warped out of space to get away from the carnage. They arrived at Halo and that's when the first game took place.

I predict in Halo 2, your mission will be to secure a Covenant invading ship on Earth, locate the Covenant homeworld (described above in First Strike), and using the harmony.wav's anti-solar-system-C&C doojab, enter the Covenant homeworld and assassinate or capture a Covenant Prophet to call a ceasefire to the war.

Bah! It's only a matter of time before ONI gets the information swirling around in Cortana and we firgure out how to trump Covenant technology. Turn the gun around as it were.
