I don't see why the barricade thing is such an issue anyway. If slendy or rake or any supernatural entity here has the power to wipe mids or alter memories AND/OR perception; and does so freely; why wouldn't it do that to any parents or relatives in the jeff/alex household?
as for continuity errors, this could explain them as well. (though this specificity is unlikely because evan/vince pointed out that alex pretends they're still around).
i don't think this explanation was clumsy at all, i think we've retracted a bit of our disbelief, which isn't fair to the storytellers XD

I tried to watch the archived stream, but wasn't able to. From the wikia resumed version and I find one odd thing with Jeff and Alex living by themselves: On "Alex" From 1:31 to 1:35, there is an old man asking "who is there?" 2 times.

If that one is not their dad, who he is?

This is the first ARG I've followed since the Lost Experience (and the first wee bit of Cloverfield). Are there any other notable instances of PMs introducing information that looks like it should be brought to their attention but then refuse to acknowledge it IG until the right plot beat rolls around?

It's a pretty cool idea, and I'm just wondering if there's a precedent for it. In theory, I can see how it would work to build suspense among the players, wondering just when the boys'll finally see the words videos and what awesomeness will follow from that. In practice, I'm feeling it's more like a back-burner issue, something that'll come around in its own time, and as we've seen today other people are finding it kind of frustrating. It's still pretty damned cool, though.
