Got another response.

Me wrote:

By the way David, what about Adrian's brother? We didn't know he had a brother before we saw your website and we still don't know anything about him. Who is whe, what's his name? Where is he at the moment and what's he up to? Also, it would be nice if you elaborated a little more on why Adrian became the cult leader in the end and not his brother.

And finally, what is your role in all these events? I thought you were with Adiran's cult, but you are not. What are you up to?

David wrote:

Who he is? That'd be no fun. Take much of the mystery out of this. What I will tell you is that he doesn't go by the last name "Sunderland" anymore. Changed his last name the day he turned 18. Can't say I blame him. That family fell out of the crazy tree and hit every branch on the way down. Adrian actually bought the whole cult thing, which is why he became the leader. Probably helped that they thought anyone related to Sunderland was a god.

My role here is to be a cryptic bastard and make obscure puzzles for this little game of yours. I'm in this for the same reason you are: it's fun, interesting, and shakes things up a bit. Admittedly your view of what's "real" and what's not is skewed, but as long as it's just a "game" you can feel safe behind the fourth wall, right?

His behaviour is quite strange for an IG character, isn't it?

The site has been updated: http://truefulfillment.webs.com/thelookingglass.htm

Still doesn't make much sense for me.

I come bearing new emails!

Zack has been in touch:

Quote:
kykotonSPLATaol.com

I emailed this to it:
Quote:
Received your email from Zack. What can you tell us?

And received:
Quote:
Email from Zack? Do you mean Zack Arima? So this is about Adrian?

I don't even know where to begin. I left that family for a reason. I hated that I had to leave my children behind, but Eric was driving me insane

So we have their mother, methinks.

Also some more interesting correspondence with Zack:
Quote:
The code is no good anymore anyway-- the Order knows it now. It will be hard to know who to trust now, because of the order.

David and I are finished with our investigation here, but we'll keep moving around. Adrian is somewhere in the country, but seems to have lost interest in hunting us. I don't know what he's up to, but whatever it is I don't think even the US members of the order know.

Me:
Quote:
Great. I'm not sure whether you know this yet, but David Melmouth has set up a website for the order and is hell bent on toying with us. Did your investigation yield much?

Zack:
Quote:
That's what Melmouth does best.

The investigation didn't turn up much, except for the fact that Reiko Asahi's "suicide" was actually a homicide, but that was pretty obvious, I think.

Right now, we're more worried about Kyoko Otonashi, the woman who's email I sent you in another email. We're afraid that she might be targeted by the order. I also think that the next Alice will be one of you.

I think you American based people need to be careful, I think I'll be ok as the order haven't targeted England yet. Sent an email back, waiting for a response. Although I'm a little worried for Thenre now.

UPDATE:
More email responses:

Quote:
Zack? No, Zack isn't my son. He was my son's lover. Since Gavin's death, he's been taking care of me.

Eric used to be normal, interested only in finding the truth. A spiritual seeker of sorts. During his stay in Japan, he tried to reach a small shrine near Mt. Fuji, and instead got lost in Aokigahara. Something there changed him, drove him mad. Some years after returning to America, I divorced him. I tried to gain custody of our children, but I was only able to get Gavin. Eric returned to Japan with Adrian.

So Gavin and Adrian were brothers. Hm.

And from Zack:
Quote:
I contacted Sara. She's been texting him,and says he's fine for now. Apparently, he's got some friends he's going to work with in person when he gets back from Thanksgiving break. He hasn't been able to open the package, either. After break, he'll likely be back in action.

Right now, you should concentrate on this website and Melmouth. How has he been toying with you? What's he saying? Knowing him, he might be hiding something there, and anything that might help us is good to know.

I'm probably not going to be as active for a while, essay deadlines are looming. Happy Thanksgiving all!

Some of the background music sounds familiar. The new "Looking Glass" page music is a carol. Other than that, not sure.

Anyone else recognize them?

Aokigahara...

I looked that up - seemed familiar to me for some reason. Apparently it's a dense forest bordering Mt. Fuji. This in and of itself is nothing strange. But apparently it is also a hotspot for suicide in Japan.

Random facts (thank you, Google) - in 2002, there were 78 dead bodies (apparent suicides) found in Aokigahara, and some of them were carrying Wataru Tsurumui's book "The Complete Manual of Suicide".

Aokighara is considered one of the most haunted sites in Japan.

Maybe nothing? Maybe something to look into.

It was covered in the previous thread actually. It's not much though, just the location of Wonderland itself.

New emails all!

Zack is going to help us all, plus he provides some hints
Quote:
Send me a link to the website. I'll take a look at it and see if I can find anything. I know from dealing with him in the past that it's not going to be straightforward at all. I had to go through some of his puzzles before. It felt more like a literature class than a puzzle, all "theme" and juxtaposing titles and content and that sort of thing, and would sometimes throw in a taunt just to be, like you said, a douche.

Don't let him get to you. He thinks he's quite the Magnificent Bastard.

Some more info from kyoko:
Quote:
He was lost for a good week. He'd gone hiking, so he had some supplies, but they didn't last that long. After that, his view of people changed. He started to think of them as worthless, greedy, and expendable. Even the dead in Aokigahara were no different from the garbage they left behind. That's when he started to see himself as a god.

I sent an email back asking for more information about the order specifically.

And today I got this from the kami using Adrian's email.
Quote:

I think we've lost him, I sent a reply still though.

As far as the website goes, I feel that some of the videos are more about the brothers than anything else. And I think the home page music is from the Zelda games. I swear once I've gotten course work out of the way will focus more on it. But for now I'll trawl through source codes, so I'll let you guys know if I find anything.

Has anyone tried posting a comment on the vids/pics and seeing if you get an answer? Might try that out when I get some free time (f***ing finals preparation Mad ).

Sorry for the double post, but here's my correspondence with Zack so far:

Quote:
Me: A friend of mine gave me your email address saying that you are in need of assistance again... How can I assist you?

Quote:
Zack: Oh, you're with Thenre and Neon_Rain23? Good. For a while now, I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone connected to the investigation. I know a lot of people have finals and whatnot, but it makes me uneasy.

Do you know if any ideas have been drawn from the website? I've been going over it myself, but it seems pretty random.

Quote:
Me: We've been talking with the owner of the site, but he isn't much help. He says we have to figure out what things from the site symbolize. I've not been able to contact him personally. Also there is something on the website calendar marking Dec 18th. Any idea what that might be?

Quote:
Zack: I don't know. If he's trying to lure some of the investigators out into the open, he's chosen a pretty odd location. I think Sara intends to check it out if she can get time off from work.

Speaking of Sara, is there any way you could text or email her? (I can't do that myself, though I wish I could-- my end of the investigation is becoming a massive juggling act.) She's becoming desperate and paranoid. I don't want her to do something stupid, or to end up dead. More than enough people have died at this point. Tell her David and I will try meeting up with her face-to-face in the near future. Try to reassure her that we're doing what we can.
Here's her contact info:

Sorry for disappearing on you guys! I have so much uni work to deal with it's unbelievable.

Anyway, I haven't really had the time to go through the website and I probably won't until Christmas break (sorry!). But I do come bearing emails!

Quote:
Sara says she can't reach Thenre. He was on Thanksgiving break, and she texted him a little over break, but he hasn't replied since Saturday. It's too early to really worry, but you should keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

She'd been trying to arrange a time to call and talk to Thenre and some people who're working with him in person. Maybe we could set up a time for you and her to chat online?

I've emailed him back for times and dates and will post them here when I receive them. I'm aiming for something nearer the weekend, so keep an eye out for that.

I've also sent an email to Kykoton asking her to take a look at the website to see if she can offer any insight.

The website has also gone under a few new changes, I think some new videos have been added. There's also new music and a picture in the looking glass bit, I recognise the artist but can't remember his name for the life of me.

I've got some emails too.

I told Sara that Zack and David were thinking of meeting up with her.
Quote:
Sara: That's bad. I've already met face to face with Zack Arima and David, or at least two people claiming to be them.

I am going to ask Zack to confirm this.

Also got a reply from the website when i asked for "answers" and about the 18th.

Quote:
redknightSPLATcollector.org: December 18th, I'm hoping to arrange a meeting. I don't hold out hope for that, though.

I'm kinda lost as to what direction I should go in. Any tips?
