[QUESTION] Live Calls requirements I've searched the forum for this but can't seem to find a straight answer.
Lets say that on the 28th of this month, I was going to wake up really early and get to a nearby phone, which I know has been activated before, in hopes to get a "live call."
What are the exact requirements for this? Do I have to E-Mail Dana or Melissa saying I'm definitely going to be at that location to answer the call? Does this particular phone have to have a history of being activated quite frequently? Does it help that this particular phone was activated EVERYTIME Melissa called it? What if it wasn't activated EVERYTIME? What if it was just once before, like a couple weeks ago?
If anyone can answer this, that would be great. Again, I tried searching around the forum for this but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Thank you.

I don't think we've established a definite pattern. The best spec I've heard is that Melissa is going live at axons that have been consistently successful every week since they appeared, but I haven't seen anyone definitively confirm or deny that. We probably don't have enough information yet.
Sending e-mail to Dana shouldn't help at all, since she's not in direct contact with ILB. And we have yet to find a way to communicate directly with Melissa. (Hmm...I wonder if she'll be reading e-mail sent to ladybee777SPLAT hotmail.com now that she's locked up the Sleeping Princess? Hope not.)
Bottom line: it may help if you've been working to activate axons consistently before now, and it will probably help even more if you're just plain lucky.

Thanks Shad0,
Actually you're in my neighborhood. I'll post this in the Los Angeles board as well but I'm planning on getting those UCLA ones at 8:15 and 8:17 on Tuesday. A live call would be nice, but I'm not totally expecting it. I just wanted to see if my chances were "swell." It's only about 15 minutes away from where I live, and another 15 minutes from where I work.
So I'll see how it goes...

live calls I haven't seen a pattern and there may not be one. Somewhere here there is a great post about why phones may not ring -- but I am not a search ninja fu person and couldn't find it.
But-- make sure you know all the right answers to the questions.
If you do get a live call and you give an incorrect answer, you're toast.
Basically you need to know:
Her name is Melissa and she is nicknamed the Operator.
the ship is the Apocalypso
the captain is Greene ( who Melissa doesn't know is dead)
the first Lt. in Rolf Sorenson
the guy who works in the supply room is McKaskill
the guy picked up in space is the Castaway
her favorite game is hide and seek
knowing the name of the crew members she has identified may be important now.
and pick a rank

Melissa most likely does know that Greene is dead. She is listening to the clips from the future.

Except that we found out Greene was dead in the clips from two weeks ago, but last week Melissa's question was "What is your Captain's last name?" not "What was your Captain's last name?"
I think she doesn't know -- she can't analyze the strange voices in her head, remember? That's why she wants us to do it for her -- and, on a personal note, I sort of think she deserves to know. It's on my "Top Ten List of Things I Wish I Had Thought to Say to Melissa" last Tuesday.

Better tell her this week. It might change mission parameters.

Eat the path I am new here.
Now that that is over with, I've got a bit of wild spec. I've been following this thing since mid-late August, and these axon happenings have got me excited enough to provide some feed.
Melissa's live activity is likely to stay about the same. Let's see it this way: Melissa is overly concerned about the secrecy and confidentiality of her condition. We're more than likely to see a few more crew members, but she can't just hop around North America naming everyone a crewmember who wants to be one. Remember the spy.
I'm going to analyze some stuff and see if I can determine some pattern for her crew selection.
Holy cow, I've got a lot of reading to do.

I'm all in favour of this. It seems to fit our role perfectly - analysing and interpreting the voices that Melissa can't. I definitely agree; tell her about Capt. Greene.

That's a great thought. If I am one of the lucky ones to get a live call today, then I will definitely inform her about Greene.
