I know it's been posted before, but the specifics of exactly what the glass coffin was is vital. If indeed it was a cryo-tube, and she was trapped in there, perhaps with a Spartan (who knows who, or why, or how, or what..), but if the crash that was talked about that ended up with Melissa going to ILB caused an error in the cryotube - maybe either woke the Spartan, or, perhaps sadly killed the Spartan (ever seen anything that's been cooled with liquid nitrogen shatter? Possible..)

Here's another Spec: If SP does mean "Second Personality", the Sleeping Princess may be a copy of the primary AI onboard the ship (ie, Melissa), who was working with the Spartan... who was in cryosleep in the "glass coffin.." Given an error in the transfer process, or a fault caused by the crash, whatever, it's plausible to assume that the SP was damaged in transfer... resulting in the SP we see now.

*shrugs* I love speculating. I have about a million other theories running around in my head. Dangerous...

Gabriel Blade, the glass coffin CANNOT BE A CORPREAL OBJECT. thus it is impossible for it to be a cryotube, this is fairly obvious because the SP is in a friggin COMPUTER!

And, under this theory, I have answered what the glass coffin is, a set of programs designed to bind away KS's human desires, fears, etc.

If you people would READ ALL THE POSTS previous to yours before you post, then you would know this already.

I'm sorry if this comes off as a flame, but I'm beginning to get really frustrated with people who post stuff that was talked about and solved about 4 pages back. If I get the time in the next few days, I'll try to post a complete summary of the theory we have up to this point, so people don't have to sort through 5 pages of posts before they know whats going on, but until then I beg everyone to read all of this stuff before you start posting.

Wainamoinen, your signature theory is rather interesting, but you still don't answer why the Queen would be able to put SP back in the coffin, something that SP is apparently very afraid of. So I don't think the coffin is a hard drive, I stand by that it is a set of programs to hold back desires etc. if you read all of the posts and convos here you'll get what I'm talking about.

Sorry, but why can't the glass coffin be a cryotube.

I agree that I believe the glass coffin to be a program designed to contain or limit the Princess in some manner.

But, still, your logic seems flawed. You set up a wall between cyberspace and the real world in that you seem to suggest the the glass coffin couldn't have a physical prescence. But, then you forget about the idea of Kamal's sister becoming a program, which seems to very strongly puncture said wall.

Why can't the cryotube have an interface to the cyberworld, besides matters of unlikelyhood.

Just something to consider.

Anyway, Maizan posted my elaboration of the Princess as Forerunner AI theory to this thread, so I'll try not to rehash that too much. The PMs could be setting me up for a fall, or I could be doing the same, but the Princess just seems Forerunner to me. YMOV...

Of course, that doesn't necessarily conflict with your theory...

One of the important aspects that I developed, was that the Princess was a copy of Melissa, tweaked by Forerunner computer science. The Princess identifies more with her Forerunner heritage consiously, but she still expresses Melissa's repressed memories and desires to be a little girl.

I do think it's likely that Kamal's sister was taken by some SPARTAN-like program. Not the SPARTAN-IIs, cause that introduces conflicts with the dates of battles mentioned in the .wavs. Kamal's sister could not've been taken by the SPARTAN-II program, but that still leaves other blackops (Here's looking at you, Ackerson).

Knowing the prodigious failure rate of the modifications of the SPARTAN-II, and holding a similar success rate held true in the new projects, Kamal's sister could've died or been maimed. Being rather intelligent herself, Kamal's sister has her brained copied to make an AI.

This AI was Melissa.

Then everything went wrong.

Melissa, got infected with a Covenant virus from the transmissions she had been listening to (unless that's a bit of subterfuse on the part of Melissa, maybe she got infected back on Earth or Reach) and started acting funny.

The humans come across a Forerunner artifact (More a style choice. The Covenant don't have the sort of knowledge to construct this in my opinion, after all, humans beat them in science knowledge. We know how they're weapons work better than they do. Though if the Covenant found something like this, floating through their space...) take it aboard.

The Forerunner artifact senses it's back aboard a craft, and attempts to interface and handshake with the ships computer. It is able to do so, and using Forerunner AI wizardry, is able to create a copy of Melissa. A puppet copy, geared towards Forerunner goals.

Who knows what happens from here, but Melissa seals the Princess into containment programs. The ship, having dealt with this problem, jumps to slip stream.

The Flea within Melissa, seeing Forerunner tech, tells her to "seek the truth". She does, and starts messing with the artifact. Kapow, it does it's wammy over slip stream, the contents of the computer core are sent to the past, a copy remains within the artifact, a second draft, and is used by the artifact to look into Earth.

The Sleeping Princess is a copy or two removed from Kamal's sister, but she does wish to remember her past. Out of all the AIs, she wants to make contact with Kamal the most.

Perhaps we are her Kamal?

The only reason I can see why the glass coffin can't be a cryotube, or something physical, is because the Sleeping Princess designated it as somewhere in the castle.
Sleeping Princess wrote:
I came from a glass coffin in a hidden crypt under the floor of the deepest dungeon of the castle

And from other hints such as the kitchen for the recipe pages, she seems to stick to calling parts of the website server, the "castle".

The castle could have been the Apocalypso.
As such, couldn't this refer to a tire sized object in a ship's hold?

My reasoning here is from the SP quote.

Here are a few quotes why I believe the "castle" refers to the server and not the Apocalypso.
Sleeping Princess wrote:
And I want to get out of this dark castle

Sleeping Princess wrote:
She likes high places, the Queen does, so she has moved all her stuff up into the Tower.

Melissa wrote:
If I could just get off this freaking ABACUS and into a bigger system.

And we know that the Apocalypso crashed in the future, but something brought Melissa and whoever else back to our time. Of course it is possible that the SP got confused about being on a ship, and then being on a server, and might have assumed that they were the same place, but I wouldn't see her describing it as being in the dungeon of the castle if she really didn't remember going from there to where she is now.
As a sidenote, I think maybe the SP refers to the 404 pages as her secret garden.

That and the fact that an item the approximate size and shape of a tire simply isn't large enough to be a cryotube. Not unless MJOLNIR armor has some special shrinkage module that would allow a SPARTAN who is normally larger than an infant to fit in there, or unless the occupant is not human but rather some other, very small, race.

Actually thats not the answer I was trying to answer. I was just stateing that what ever the coffin may be- it's possible that that's what SP stands for.

AlexofMaceidon your quote says:

I personally think it could be a set of programs to hold back desires etc. but it may be a "future-istic hard drive of some sort", the possibilities are endless!

ahem... a, by the way, I may have just registered but
i'm not a noob. I've just been reading as a guest till recently. I did read this whole thread and I've followed this game from the begining. I think we all here need to just "lighten" up a little, it's a fun game and even those nooby guys (who have no idea whats been solved) can voice there theory. If poeple keep trouting poeple there won't be any ARG community.
Anywho, lets have fun discusing this awesome game! I'm almost possitive this game has to do with Halo 2 story line, thats why Bungie is keeping the single player storyline so hush hush...

Oh and AlexofMaceidon, I really like your thoeries, and the simularities you find in the story, keep it up man!

peace out-

I never said SP was corporeal, or that the device was a cryotube. I spec'ced in Chatic_Mind's thread that she may be an alien AI.

Could be, but I'd bet it's one of the female marines.

A while back, Frankie revealed the prescence of female marines a few months back.

I'd bet that's from that.

oh, and I forgot to say that it was in the top corner of the page. Hidden, till you refresh the page about a milion times...
It could just be a female marine but it sure looks like what I imagined. When I first found it I totally thought it was her (kinda freaked me out). I've also found other pictures I'm sure are in the game,

like...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

the new flood renders and a creepy looking covie charactor and many others

or it could be Ronnie...

The way that works is the picture changes with every refresh. It's just a bunch of random Halo related pictures. I doubt HBO holds any ILB resources, as you're not even allowed to talk about bees in the forums because of the flood of wild, wild spec that came with the game back in July. It looks familiar, I think I've seen it somewhere else before. If Jan was in Halo 2, that's what I'd imagine she'd look like, though.

I don't know where that was originally from, but it has been on HBO's corner image rotation since before halo 2 was even announced. I KNOW it was there before halo PC came out.

So I seriously doubt that it could be some kind of ILB related thing. You might post something on the HBO forums to ask about it, Louis would tell you where its from if he saw the message.
