Hey. New here, but reporting for service to assist. I'm in Dallas, Tx. Just tell me where to go and I'll do my best to catch her.

Wait, the Apocalypso was a Navy ship? So we have to use Navy ranks?
I remember thinking this last tues. when all this went down. No single US force has all those titles that crew members chose. Colonel is not a navy rank from what I know, it's army. But this is the future, so I guess just pick a title that you would expect to find on a space ship. And no, "Supreme Allied Commander" probably won't float too well with Melissa

All ranks are either Navy or Marine... which fits.

has anyone else seen this yet? I think the sp got put back in the coffin. Also the flea doesn't sound too bad here. He seems to actually think it's a bad thing the sp's gone. Maybe that's just my interpetation though.

I'm still undecided on the ONI thing.
I have read the novels; and i could brush up on them this weekend...
However, like it was said, ONI was part of a coverup, and Melissa could be upset about it.
I suppose "ONI tech" wouldn't be too bad. That's not really someone who is very powerful in ONI.
I'll think about it.

I live about 1/2 hour away from Minneapolis, so I'd love to try to grab at least one of those three axons. Unfortunately, I have school while they're going to be ringing I very highly doubt my parents would let me skip school to go pick up some payphone and talk to the "operator"

I believe that you can still get axons that were archived early this week as failures. I got two Wednesday night myself -- 18:49 and 19:11, both in the "bang" group -- and they have both been changed from AXON CANCELLED to AXON SUCCESS.
On that note I'll be heading down to the 'ol 8:21 tomorrow (Saturday).

Does anyone know offhand if any ONI "spooks" were mentioned as being on the Apocalypso?
I know there were conversations posted on ILB after Aug 10th, i think, that involved ONI personnel.
i think i'll try that route...
Like Shad0 said there was Kowalski and I think thats the only mentioned.
If you have a look at http://library.psyjnir.net/?id=372 you can see the names of some of the people who were aboard Apocalypso:
Captain Greene
First Lieutenant Rolf Sorenson
ONI Tech Kowalski
Midshipman Arrelts
McKaskill
its quite a good site if you want to read up on ranks and more background to halo before you go t the next axon

No luck. I waited 3 minutes after 8:21 but I was starting to get some really funny looks.
The pay-phone has been marked as "out of service" (sticker over the coin slot) but still has a dial tone so I don't think that's the problem.

[SPEC: I am guessing that it is possible that these names will actually be used for the crew characters in the release version of Halo2! That is the kind of thing that can be put into a program just prior to going golden. If this spec were percieved as being true, I would imagine a flood of Haloites at the next set(s) of Axons!]
I don't think so. Maybe beekeepers as a group will be added, perhaps a tombstone to the "crew of the apocalypso" but to single out individual players would be to create a lot of emnity between those lucky people who caught a live call, and those who didn't.
It's already happened on these forums.
