Part of me wonders if you answered that you didn't use a Norelco in the sign up sheet they automatically say they are sold out to you.

Also, I've gotten a ton of spam ever since I signed up. I think this may have been a phishing scam or some such. For all we know Norelco may not even be involved.

There is no IMAX in Betonville. The theater listed isn't even in Bentonville, its in Rogers, which also has no IMAX.
That's where the passes I got are for!

Nice! But don't expect much. That malco theater is nice (I saw avatar twice there) but it sure aint IMAX.

Debating on if I should even try to get tickets or not, as I have my IMAX 3D tickets ordered already, and I don't want to spoil it with a RealD screening.

I'm not that desperate. I might try to use the pass I got and go down to the screening closest to me and tell them my story. Hopefully I'll get in.

If they are actually giving out passes via this jacked up site, then it has got to be at an allotment of 1-5 passes per day or something because I have been LIVING on that site for the past 24 hours.

This entire thing just screams farce. If none of us get passes with everyone trying as often as they are, I say we call them out to Disney when all is said and done.

I'm pretty sure Disney would just tell us to get a life and take care of our personal everyday business.

"These are free, so what are you really complaining about"

I am not against you Rusty, but somehow this whole thing seems somewhat fake anyway. But if not maybe they just sold ALL of them on the first day.

Worst case we just wait two more days to see it. But since this is in fewer citites than TRON night, I am guessing there is a possibility of swag.

LOL! Obviously, sir, you've never dealt with Disney's marketing & promotions department. When they are alerted to misrepresentation of their company or trademarks they takes it very, very seriously. I worked in the theater industry for nearly fifteen years doing promotions & the term "Disney Nazi's" is thrown around quite a bit in relation to their stance on what you may and may not do with their stuff.

Trust me, if they got enough contacts from folks upset over this phish job, they'll at least take a look at it & consider their partnership with Norelco. These kinds of "contests" are becoming more & more commonplace and unless we as consumers speak up, nothing's ever gonna change.

Though, it is good to know that you're not against me, ape. That brings warm feelings to my heart on this cold winter's day. Wink

The reason these are going so fast is radio stations like KROQ and other stations have the DJ's mentioning the site and telling listeners to go enter to try and get passes.

So when thousands are going on there, the few passes go quickly. I bet like each theater location is only got like 80-100 passes and once those are gone that's it. :/

You've personally heard radio station DJ's telling listeners to go to a Norelco site to score free passes? Wow. Strangest bounceback promotion I've ever heard of. A film studio going through a radio station to push people to a site selling razors to get free passes for an upcoming film? Interesting. What a world.

Sounds like a noble pursuit. Hopefully you'll look just like Kevin Flynn.

[WaayOT]I had the strangest dream...
Have you had it too?

Still nothing for the SF one at this time either.

...I'm on the Grid and there's a light cycle racing out, then towards me and takes me out using their Identity Disc. I come to and much like cartoon characters see stars, I see a giant spinning and oddly Tron-like electric razor. I feel compelled to login to a feaux-Flynn Livess account. They say there's free passes to an advance screening. They ask "What city?" I say San Francisco. They hear San FranSisco because this is the dream where right when I confirm the city, it shows me the pass AND LITERALLY yoinks it from underneath my feet right when I want to PRINT OUT their deceptive gift of kindness. Good thing it was only a dream.
Oh, wait. If I buy their spinning electric god for $200+ I can (essentially) see Tron Legacy for FREE?
