Re: Question

There will probably be a question for GPS sites. She has to verify who is answering those. Those with crew names probably won't get questions.

If I am lucky enough to get the "long conversation" call (I maintain that ALL the calls are live conversations with Melissa the AI from the future!) what if I answer: Name = Greene, Rank = Captain? Might I then be able to give her orders and take over the whole game? Twisted Evil

More likely it would just get me a new membership in "Failures Anonymous"! Laughing

Actually, I think the crew will be getting a lot of questions, just not directly answerable from in game transmissions. She's still trying to assess her damage, so I think she'll be asking us our opinions, as well as asking us to tell her stories or sing or tell jokes ("I recognize that as a joke, I'm just not sure it's funny" Razz ) I fully expect her to ask on the welfare of my sister, and possibly the other crewmembers.

It looks like I get the first Axon this week.
If anyone wants to PM me with their phone number, I can report the question immediately afterwards. Otherwise, it would take me 30 minutes to get back to the office and report in.

any new speculations about the code word/s for the new 9/28 recepie2 axons yet?

Question: Who is your colonel?
Answer: xnbomb

Actually, that's not bad SPEC. Now that we're listed as crew, our names are fair game as much as Capt. Greene's was.

Good point.
Do we have a definitive list of crewmembers and their rank compiled from the audio?

But pronunciation would be very difficult with player made handles. I could see someone early in the game responding to the question:
Q. Who is your Lieutenant Commander?
A. Shad Zero
Then again, she did give us a .wav of everyone saying their names. So who knows
what lurks in the hearts of men... Shad Zero knows.

OK, I've got Mike_Was and SpaceBass for phone support on Tuesday.

But there are several people of certain ranks. Why not flip it? "What rank is ...?" This would allow for multiple questions.

Yeah, that's my point. Shad-oh is the correct way to say it, not because how it is spelled out, but because that is how the player himself said it. People who would go to the axons without some sound recorder to listen to how the player said their name, would just respond to Melissa's question with how the name looks. If every phonecall isn't live, it might be hard for people to pronounce the name in the way the recognition software will pick it up.

Okay, here's the list as I have it, updated as of Friday's 404 page:

Col. Xnbomb
Commander MikeWas
Mst. Chf. Chappy
Lt. Comm Shad0 (for anyone who didn't get it, that's Shad-oh Razz )
Lt. Weephun
Lt. Adam
Lt. Carlsen
Lt. Archon
Ensign Krystyn
Ensign Kamen (pronounce Common)
Ensign Dragonrider
Major Jared_mumblemumble (have no idea here...)
Sgt. Mann-Alive
Corporal Conrad Mazian
Pvt. Ben

There, that better? Spec away once again!

I think it is Major Jared Mock. (might not be how he spells it, but that sounds like how it is pronounced)

Actually it rhymes with 'ramen', assuming you don't pronounce ramen like some odd people I know. That will surely work anyway.

In fact, that may have been a purpose of posting the crew_1.wav - so that we would hear how the names get pronounced.

I still think it's probably not going to be the case, but it sure is possible.

Still, I think it was worth it. Now everyone knows who we are, and everyone knows what some of us sound like (now isn't THAT scary?)
