Tomorrow I'll see about trying to examine the spot where I found the wallet after I was given the phone. Not too far from where I work, but it'll be dark by the time I can get there.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
maybe ISOlatedtinker is Quorra...if she is an ISO after all thatd make sense--she would help Flynn anyway possible...that could also mean that in the film Quorra sent the page to Alan. just a thought Smile

I ran by Book Soup in LA on Sunset at lunch (open since 1970's) and no sticker on the one light pole directly outside the store or on any surrounding areas of the building, etc.

I'm in the West LA area and down to stay involved with this so anyone let me know if you want to meetup or have me scope out anymore stores as we get closer.

If they go authentic with bookstores that were open in 88, that would rule out most (if not all) Borders/B&N locations in LA. I was either thinking it would be a famous LA bookshop (Book Soup) or some little hole in the wall place. But we also can't rule out them picking a book store location that is no longer in business either as a book store (but was around circa 1988). To that effect could be in front of a Pinkberry for that matter.

I'll keep my eyes open, amazing what you see on light poles when you're actually looking at them.

Wow, I'm in meetings all day and come back to 29 pages of puzzle-solvy-amazingness Smile

Epic work. Freaking amazing.

Got my operative drop phone charged and at the ready Smile (It was the Vegas phone, but I live in LA)

I am only applying the difference blend on the top layer. I took the right half turned it upside down so it matched the left hand and what I get is this:

I made a paper craft version, but the two halves can be combined several ways. Are you saying that each individual symbol has to be rotated separately? I know this doesn't really matter anymore, but I just really want to see it, I was here for the whole puzzle, and I still feel like I don't know how it was solved. lol.

Yes, it's not quite as easy as flipping.

Picture the folded bit - instead of flattening it to have all the matched pairs overlapping, you need to slide each pair over the other.

Or, digitally, if you put the connecting edges of one pair together, move one over the other - don't flip it. It does mean that every individual pattern needs to be rotated, not the right half flipped as a whole. Think of it like the right half is a gear rolling over the left half.

As a direct example, take my diagram with the piece numbers on it. If you align the the 1+6 pair, which is 1 (lower pattern) and 6 (lower pattern), then you'd be rotating the right half by 72*2 (144) degrees counterclockwise, then overlaying the patterns. Rotate another 72 degrees counterclockwise to match the 1 (upper pattern) and 6 (lower pattern), and so on.

See attachment for another way to explain Smile

Good speculation...my thoughts.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
After the Tron night, I was kinda interested when Sam says "We got your page" and Flynn looks at him like "what page?" I realize the time difference and all, but I started thinking of who would bother to page Alan, I don't think Quorra would, but Clu probably knew about Alan and definitely Tron would. Perhaps Tron/Rinzler sent it to get help, or Clu did in the hopes of luring Flynn out where he could get to him. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! I feel better now. Twisted Evil

It'd be nice if they do the stickers on posts near bookstores but placed books in the stores with at least the dust jackets of the books on http://www.flynnfrontier.com/ in the shops!

I would buy those books in a heart beat.

I know it is too much to expect but it would be really cool if they did happen to make copies of Kevin Flynn's books and they will be part of the drop.

That would be funny if people lined up thinking that Jeff Bridges wrote a book on computers. Very Happy

Disney has actually released books by it's characters before, Castle (a tv show about a mystery writer) and it got in the top 10 best seller list.

My thoughts:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
when we found the architecture website, it mentioned the new Encom building is opening the day the movie comes out, which to me means that all of the events of Flynn Lives are happening in real time according to the movie. With us all feverishly searching for Flynn, I wouldn't be surprised if one of us ends up sending the page at the very end of the game.

I've already put in for time off of work on the 8th in hopes that Houston is one of the lucky cities. I'd bet that the 15 cities in the norelco offer have a good chance of being part of the game.

1) Good error handling is the mark of any capable programmer.
2) Automated system pages have been around for 3 decades even for us mere mortals.
3) TRON was written to intelligently deal with problems of all sorts.
Wouldn't it make sense that it be the one doing the paging?</Spec>

another thing im hoping 42 Entertainment will do on Wednesday is:

when they release the city names, they let us know if there will be more than one drop. that way if we miss one we can still try for the other

Your thought is probably closest to what they are going to do since they would want it to be a seamless transition between the promotion and the release, so it might be next week is the list/sign ups and the week after is the endgame.
