I think that so far, most everything is just them being them except when an obvious exception, i.e. HABIT.
I feel like a broken record but I still think we don't yet have enough information to verify pretty much anything. It's all pretty nebulous at this point.

I think the guys are going for a "kick yourself when you realise" kinda thing. You wait and wait for all these clue and when it becomes obvious you realise how simple it was.

Vince and Evan introduce the clip to us.

Yeah it is pretty weird to me that the guys weren't more bothered by the way Evan behaved there. Like the fact that they never questioned it or anything, not on camera at least. There have been hints of Evan acting odd that they are able to see but that maybe they're just not quite grasping the implications of?

Evan's acting pretty strange in that introduction, too... he's got this incredibly creepy smirk on the entire time Vince is talking, and based on the facts that he's got his arm behind Vince and there's a loud metal clicking sound at the very beginning of the clip, some people have proposed the idea that Evan's got Vinnie at knifepoint. Clicks open a switchblade and "act normal for the camera, Vince."

I think it's hard to figure out exactly when HABIT took up residence. I'd say that he settled in fully at the first unsigned tweet, and the "HABITHABITHABT" part was Evan unconsciously freaking the fuck out.

Then bring it up to them. If they can't remember the video, then it's pretty much confirmed HABIT interference.

I might... there's another video they apparently can't see, according to Jeff's e-mail. (And I am still ridiculously excited about getting a 16-word e-mail from him, seriously.) I linked him to the wiki pages for the hidden videos, as well as "Sleep Lab Part II," in which Evan described his dreams. When I re-watched the series, I noticed that Evan records a description of his screaming-children dream, but then later seems to have no memory of it. Jeff said that the hidden videos AND the link to the Sleep Lab page were all dead. Someone might want to follow up and see if they can even see that video, or if the part where Evan describes his dream has also vanished from their perception.

They-- Jeff and Vince, at least-- still seem kind of annoyed by our talk about the hidden videos, and I don't want to irk them further. I'm not sure if Evan's ever commented on the hidden videos, I haven't had time to sit and watch all the ustreams.
Yeah I remember noticing that Evan didn't seem to remember his fucked up dream when he woke up later. Which is why it makes sense to me that the secret videos like "Slender man" are IG events that they've forgotten as it seems like there may easily be a lot of times where they have their memories wiped and god knows what happens. Though Welcome to the Ark seems like it may be a future event.

I remember Evan commenting on the hidden videos in a Ustream just like all the other boys do and accusing people of being trolls.

AS far as Evan and the hidden videos goes, he gets incredibly belligerent in the live ustreams when it's brought up.

"NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN UGH"

He almost seems like it shouldn't be brought up, ever. Like he doesn't want it discussed with Jeff or Vince.

Jeff and Vince's eventual annoyance with it might be a product of subtle HABIT manipulation via Evan's rage.

You'd think that when EVERYONE watching your series seems to be seeing the exact same thing that maybe you'd suspect something is amiss. Sigh. Eventually they're going to be able to see the videos and flip out, then (I hope) promptly record an apology video.

"OH GOD. GUYS. WE ARE SO SORRY. WE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO YOU OR EVAN WOULD NOT NOW BE CURLED UP IN THE CORNER ROCKING BACK AND FORTH."

Well I'm not sure that it would even make much of a difference if they believed us since they still wouldn't be able to see them. And they're so dependent on each other at this point that would the really want to listen to us if we told them not to trust Evan? It's not like those videos really provide much assistance for them as much as foreshadowing and awareness for us.

It might, though. Maybe their stubborn refusal to believe they exist is part of why they can't see them. The stubbornness could be a symptom of some kind of mindscrew they've been subject to, and perhaps if one of them overcomes it, they'll be able to see.

You know what would be really interesting? To find out if Jessie or Damsel could see the hidden videos. Jessie I doubt, but Damsel might be able to... if she weren't locked away somewhere. Sad I miss Damsel.

I just rewatched the Welcome to the Ark video and noticed a part I hadn't noticed before. And I know probably a lot of you guys are thinking how there's no evidence that that video is even part of the storyline but to me, it's gotta exist for a reason other than just to fuck us up.

At the end when they're trying to get to the light which they apparently think will keep them safe from The Rake, Jeff won't come to them and is saying with a smile on his face "Come here, the way out is over here." He grabs Evan's hand and tries to pull him over and Vince says "We can't believe any of this, Jeff!" before Jeff is pulled under and taken away.

I'm sure I'm late on noticing this with you guys but anyone have any ideas about this? It seems pretty odd to me for Jeff of all people to be acting like that. And since that clip of the hand being dragged under is used in some of the hidden videos, it seems to me like it must have relevance in the main storyline. Idk.

I think someone's already asked Jessie. I could be remembering wrong though. I'm sure she said she couldn't see them.

If they track down Damsel and help her like they keep saying they will, I think it could open up a lot of doors for them. Hopefully good, eye-opening ones.

I'm still hoping for a curve ball in all of this - we've been associating Evan with HABBIT for a while now - it would be just delightful if that wasn't the case afterall, and Evan was doing "something else" when he was talking to emptychair.

Still, hoping for that isn't going to stop me from getting on board with this "when did Evan and HABBIT consecrated their relationship" talk. It seems that despite all of the "Evan being Evan" instances, the guys did realize that he was rattled and "off" based on the events that had been happening. Remember, A Day in the Life was done entirely to help him (moreso than the others) calm down and get back to normal. It's kind of hard to tell just how off Evan is, he seems to be himself when threatening to break off the pseudoslendies legs and shove them down his throat, my guess is the strict diet of zombie movies and video games makes him pretty desensitized to violence all on his own.

And as far as the guys not really acknowledging Evan's laughing fit in Jokes over in the intro/outro to jokes over - it might be worth at least bringing that part up, as there are several factors to that scene with Vinnie and Evan addressing the camera that don't add up - the metal sound (which actually also seems to be heard in the spliced in clips in the Centralia video, although it might just be keys/change since they are running), the camera moving at the end (despite no Jeff around) with Vinnie giving an "oh shit"-ish look, Evan smirking/positioning himself oddly close to Vinnie and just sitting in a way that doesn't seem natural at all, and then the fact that they don't really talk about the events in the video beyond just slight references to the bags.

As far as the actual "on location" part of joke's over - I always found it really odd that Evan just charges at him with a foot long knife - especially considering that at this point it could still be just one of their friends messing around. I know other people have said that they're aware of slendy's reputation and that's what motivated it, but it just seems kind of extreme punishment for standing in his parents room.

Wow...long post. Apologies all around

Evan is thematically linked to Slender Man, while Jeff is thematically linked to the Rake. I interpreted that as Jeff being "seduced" by the Rake's promises. (The little critter can talk, if they're following the creepypasta.)
