sure, it's the -camera- that breaks the laptop....

lol you think Lil's using some sorta force to stop the proof of the Rake's existance? She doesn't growl like it does but she does sound like a loose fan belt at times.

cloud cult (sort of like the crazy hippie uncle of animal collective & the decemberists)
god is an astronaut (evocative instrumentals)
gogol bordello (gypsy punks. 'nuff said)
jason webley (crazy guy playing the accordion and shouting/singing richly descriptive lyrics about death/the end of the world/love)
evelyn evelyn (circus music crossed with a variety of genres, morbidly funny)
the smiths/morrissey (dark, brooding [anti] love songs)
sisters of mercy (ridiculously 80s goth melodrama)
joy division (dramatic male vocals with punk/synthpop, heartbreaking once you listen to the lyrics)
stolen babies (punk rock with a female accordion player on vocals. demented and wonderful.)
corvus corax (just....this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QWS1xUkUaA )

i have more, but that seems like enough for now. O.o

oh my sweet merciful heathen gods, i know. the first time i watched that particular vid was at maybe 3am midway through a disc of random-ass goth music videos. took a couple plays until i understood what had just happened, but it was love at first...everything.

I'd almost rather not understand what happened.

But.. it was all..

Just wow.

I"d be looking at more stuff, but that would require getting of the couch. and i just got here. and it's a comfy couch.

Did anyone ever post art for 'it's the slenderman, Charlie brown?'

I will forever and ever recommend Kevin Devine. It's hard to say what he does exactly, kinda folk, kinda alternative, pure awesome. He also likes to rap for some reason and he's actually not bad.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I may or may not be slightly obsessed with his music

The other thing I recommend to everyone is the Wonder Years. It's pop punk, but really fucking good. I'd say listen to anything of the Upsides because that cd is like almost perfect imo. It's meant a lot to me this year.

Arcade Fire, they have really good music. Lauren O'Connell is really great to as is The spill canvas.
