A subforum?

A temporary sub-forum for teams might be in order :]

I just made an official request of the admins. Not sure if we'll get anything.

What we can do in the meantime is create a tag to help spot the threads quickly. I was thinking either [FC] or [ENDGAME]. Thoughts? Votes?
I would like to shorten the 'Final Countdown' off of the city team threads, down to whatever tag we end up using.

Hi! I'm another migrant from TRON-Sector and would like to get involved with the London team. I work in Holborn, near the West End, so have quick and easy access to potential ARG hotspots.

I've been lurking for a while as a Guest, for probably a year now and you guys have done some great work on here Very Happy

Check this thread again. Me and a few others will be hitting the DC area.

Hate to mention it, but are we seriously making all these plans without any idea whatsoever on which cities will ultimately be chosen?

which cities

Yep. based on the flyer in Final Countdown, Flynn's last book tour hit 16 cities (4 are named on the flyer - the other 12 everyone is hoping will be near them). Since there are several indications the cities will follow in his footsteps for the book tour, the four listed cities probably are included and the total cities is probably limited to 16.

That's why there's talk of the 16 cities Norelco's promo used for screenings being / not being the same 16 for this.

It is still unknown which cities but being prepared and organized matches up with the Flynn Lives movement.

The cities should appear on the digitalpulse site and get us started.

Based on what we know already, 4 cities are a given:
Chicago
Los Angeles
New York
San Francisco
Those are on the flyer, were part of Zero Hour, Tron Night, and are on the Norelco list.

Atlanta
Boston
Minneapolis
Philadelphia
Phoenix
Seattle
Washington DC
Are all on the Zero Hour, Tron Night, and Norelco lists.
That's 11 cities right there.

San Diego has had its share of events of course, and is one of the mailing locations used by Flynn Lives.

Austin
Denver
Las Vegas
Orlando
Portland
Raleigh
Salt Lake City
Were all part of both Zero Hour and Tron Night.
Thats 19 possible cities.

Nashville
Is the odd one out in the US, only part of Zero Hour.

There's an implication that the book tour was of the US, and likely not international. That being the case,
London
Paris
Sydney
Toronto
Are longer shots. Toronto being in North America and part of Tron Night means it has the best chance of those cities.

Madrid having failed Zero Hour is pretty much out.

Would hope 42Entertainment would have a bit more scope than to keep using the same cities over and over and over again. I mean, this is to get word out about the film on a large scale at the end of the day, right?

Sorry, I'm just getting really tired of seeing California get flooded with so many events. Strange considering I don't think they really need to work on the grosses in that part of the nation.

This is cool and all, but to those of us who don't live near one of those cities and couldn't get a phone and have been faithfully following this ARG... it's kinda disappointing...

They want people to participate though. If they hold the events in cities where only a handful of people participate, no buzz is created. Look what happened in Madrid during Zero Hour...not a soul showed up for the drop. The reason California gets so many events is because that area is reliable for mass participation.

Also, they DID say on the FL discussion boards that they will need operatives online as well, so everybody will be involved. Remember that there was an article on FL about side channel attacking, which involves many computers from around the globe hacking in together.

All I am hoping for is they consider, as mentioned before, they 'branch out' to other less big cities for this Kevin Flynn book tour viral, COME ON RICHMOND VA!!!! In whatever case, I will be ready on Monday...right after work!

So, we still don't know what cities were on the tour, right? Gawd, the bomb drop for this countdown will probably be interesting. Though it may end up being nothing... that we can actually do on THAT day. Seems really on-the-spot to not give people more time to know the locations and then prepare to take advantage of it.There are probably people willing to drive 6 hours to a nearby city to get in on this thing. So that makes me wonder if the countdown is just for an announcement for what will likely end up being on the weekend - which if I'm not mistaken, there IS some kind of promotional event planned for this coming weekend already... some kind of razor thing tied in with a December movie.

Well, you can put me on the Portland list. If we don't get a drop, Seattle isn't all that far away. Very Happy

For some reason that Norelco site won't let me register (can't type in the boxes, weird), but I noticed this so... it seems there are 16 cities in the pulldown menu. Since it seems so likely that the result from the End Game will be an advance screening... well, seems like a fair bet it'd be the same cities? Of course, this doesn't include Canadian or international cities, so maybe not.

Pulldown says:
Atlanta
Bentonville
Boston
Chicago
Dallas
Detroit
Ft Lauderdale/Miami
Houston
Los Angeles
Minneapolis
New York
Philadelphia
Phoenix/Tempe
San Francisco
Seattle
DC

Back under my rock. Just thought it was interesting.
