Unfortunately, the suggestion seems to be "Don't bother." Check the London Axon thread for details. Basically, they had a GPS unit that showed the initial phone they went to was the correct one, but it has never rung. (Yes they called it to check, even with a call from the US.)

Get someone on every payphone within a half-mile/mile radius of the original coordinates? That would be a lot of people, but it seems the only pratical solution so far.

An unlikely solution is to get BT to forward incoming calls to payphones to just one payphone. Then we'd only need to be at one. But I doubt BT would do that for whatever reason.

BT: British Telecom. Owns most/all of British payphones.

 		There was discussion earlier that the PMs may have flubbed up time zones...have you tried checking the phone an hour off the listed time?

I do not think that is an issue. The axon is listed as 10:07 PDT. This tells me that the call is being initiated at 10:07 PDT (most likely from a location in the Pacific time zone). 10:07 PDT is 18:07 BST (British Summer Time, our equivalent of daylight savings).

If, for some strange reason, the PMs were altering the time that this one phone call was being initiated, then it would most likely be at 15:07 BST (which would fit the seven our conversion to GMT). But that seems really confusing when they are not altering the time of calls for anywhere else.

Most likely one of the following things has happened:
1. They have the wrong phone number. Either the number itself is wrong or they are dialling the number incorrectly. Someone mentioned that the area codes for this part of London changed recently, but I believe that was before this axon was picked. I also subscribe to the theory that this axon was hand selected by someone who happened to be here within the last month or two (as a response to all of the players outside of the US).
2. The GPS coordinate on the page is wrong. If this is the case, there is no way to know where the phone actually is. If just one of the last numbers is incorrect, then the phone is relatively close by (but in an unknown direction). If one of the middle or front numbers of one of the coordinates is incorrect, then it could be anywhere in London.
3. The time on the page is wrong. This could also be a possibility. The time could be anything else.

The London axon team has really covered their bases. They found the correct phone booths (one of the two) using a GPS unit and it was the phone booths that they originally staked out after the axon was listed. They have tested calling it (both from several mobile phones and from someone who was willing to call from the US). Several members have also informed both Dana and SP (before she was captured) of their difficulties (and the correct phone numbers).

So, the London team is really stuck until one of the following things happens:
1. An in-game character (Dana) tells them to try again. This would mean that the axon is know properly at that time and GPS coordinate and will now ring.
2. The GPS coordinates change (hopefully to another London location to reward all the hard work the London team has put in). At this point the team would be out again in force.
3. The time was wrong and is changed.

You have been away for a while (well, not really, this only changed on 21 Sep.). The non-recipe3 axons now behave in the following manner:
1. All times and locations are previewed.
2. All times and locations are grouped and become active.
3. Axons answered as normal with the possibility of talking to non-recorded Melissa on Tuesdays.
4. After Tuesday, all unlocked wave file groups are archived. Once a locked file group is unlocked, it is immediately archived. Cancelled/non-enhottenated axons can still be answered, but you must have recorded the time and coordinates are blanked out.
5. I assume that when Tuesday rolls around, all unanswered axons no longer ring. The exception to this is when a file group has not yet been unlocked.
The recipe3 axons are different. They only need one axon to be unlocked. They stay available until answered.

This site was mentioned before in passing, but I thought it might be worth posting again (esp since I could only find the ref by searching on the URL). It takes ILB GPS coords directly (ie no formating or conversions needed) and will perform look-ups on 11 different sites. We had a bit of trouble pinning down our site until we cross-referenced a couple different maps - turns out MapQuest was a bit off while MapPoint was spot on for our axon.
