Jeez. I'm going to my niece's production of the Nutcracker this weekend. Now I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for Slender Man.

THANKS GUYS

Don't be ridiculous, you must watch out for Slenderman everywhere!

CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

Other than the ballet, are there any strong associations with nutcrackers? Like ChildOfAtom mentioned earlier, the artifacts in EMH thus far (Powerade probably excluded) have tended to have had some significance beyond themselves.

Or maybe it's just as simple as the letter-sender, by including the ornament along with a letter from that Christmas, is telling us that he was there--how else, after all, would he have had the ornament in the first place? Is this a hint that undead or non-dead Corenthal has been leaving the caches and sending the letters all along?

Or maybe it's just a nutcracker ornament the letter-sender picked up at Walmart and included because, hey, Christmas.

EDIT: 1000? Really? Wow!

Hooray for EMH!

So is there any news from the Guys besides it not being anyone's birthday for months?

We demand recognition for our monumental achievements in postwhoring and thread-derailing and object-burying and theorizing and fanfiction-writing and all the other cool horrible things we do!

You guys are awesome and this thread is a giant maze of confusion and too-many-posts, but hey, 1000 pages.

Oh, wow, I just realized that when I wrote [redacted] on the letter, I really just meant it had been blacked out with a marker. I don't know if it means much, but I guess it shows it's an actual letter(/journal page?) and not paperwork of any kind.

And congrats on page 1000, you guys! We've become so convoluted we will never have any new fans ever! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

...wait.

So does that mean it's not a copy and someone blacked it out on that page?

I don't know, is there a way to recover/remove the marker'd bits? An oil or something?

edit: google-fu tells me to try acetone

We hit page 1001 just by celebrating about page 1000. I now understand everything, we are somehow all made of pure concentrated win and awesome that forms a special magic that keeps this thread from exploding.

Anyway I know one of my friends mentioned you can get ink up from a page depending on the kind with baby oil sometimes rubbing alcohol works but I don't suggest that because it could damage whatever is under the black ink.

I'd really prefer not to damage this letter until I can find a way to preserve it online. If I can find a way to scan it onto my computer, though, I will totally try stuff to get the ink off. Let's maybe come up with a consensus of what works best first, so as to not damage too much?

Of course, definitely get a good copy online before doing anything to it!

Well if you hold it up to the light/examine it really closely does it even look like there are letters underneath it? I know with some of the others, the words that we weren't meant to find out were just sort of blank or had nonsense written there and then marker used to "cover" the word. Like I remember people being able to determine the redacted parts that detailed the death of the Nurse in Habit Evan's letter, but they came to the conclusion that there weren't actually letters that could be recovered in the name...

I'd just be aware that if we really aren't meant to know what it says, they may have ensured that we don't find out, so I wouldn't worry if your attempts aren't very fruitful.

I want a letter....

I can see that there is something underneath because it looks like they missed the very tops of tall letters, like a 'l' or a 'h'. I don't know if I'm just seeing things here, but it almost looks like someone wrote in pen underneath the black mark.

You can go photocopy it if no one you know has a scanner, if that's an option.

And congrats on over 15000 posts and getting past page 1000! Very Happy

I hope not, that would be a total bummer if you were able to get the ink off...and nothing was there.
