I wonder if this is supposed to be the website that drives you mad that was mentioned in Urban Mythology way back.

Here is the poem(?) that is on http://www.theunraveling.com/cleave.html

Quote:

I felt a cleaving in my mind--
As if my brain had split--
I tried to match it-- Seam by Seam--
But could not make it fit

The thought behind, I strove to join
Unto the thought before--
But Sequence ravelled out if sound
Like Balls-- upon the floor.

Still trying to figure out where it came from
Let you know more when I know it.

Just to add that the picture in the background on cleave.html when you scroll up and down the poem is a silhouette of a child standing up on a red background (possibly stained glass).

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
As soon as you load the flash there are some other words which fade away to show the other poem. They are:

THERE
ARE
SOME
MOMENTS
I
COULD
LIVE
IN
FOREVER

Background Image

The Background image looked disturbing so I looked only at it, and there is some info hidden behind the white section of text. It looks like numbers.

(Edit: image size too big for the forum, another version is located further down in the thread. Also, grumpboy found it on istockphoto.com)

The numbers/text in the background seem to read:

"160/GD60"

It's debatable, but there's a spash of white just to the right which could be a number Four, but it doesn't look the same as the others (smaller, not on an angle).

I have that problem too. I found the eyespots last night with the tab key (bless you, internet navigation for the blind) but didn't mention it because they didn't seem to do anything.

That might be an L, not a D.

I've inverted the image to see if it's any easier to read.

To get to thefirststep.html what we were supposed to do is hit "i" on the keyboard (i, eye, get it Wink ) when the Flash movie has focus.

Here is the article about the website that drives people insane. The subtitle on the archive page reads: "Open outside.html. Enter."

New site found, I'm not sure how it was found, or by who, (feel free to claim credit!) but www.theunraveling.com/amazinggrace.html was found.

Edit by konamouse: Owler was commenting that the poem on wearesomighty.html reminded her of of the song Amazing Grace, so she tried it and voila!!

On that page, the following block of text is displayed:
