[INFO/UPDATE] Seek, Behold, Reveal the Truth

"...name, track, and lock up the rogue process..." from new 404 page.
"...seek out, behold, and reveal the truth. " also from new 404 page.

Similar sentence structures and wording lead me to believe that Melissa is making an "ironic mistake". From this it seems that the Princess is the truth that she's been seeking so long. Just [SPEC], but any thoughts?

This actually makes pretty good sense, and fills in some gaps if you make some assumptions.

The covenant have always gone to great lengths to find forerunner artifacts. If we assume the Pious Flea is covenant, then the "truth" he is looking for could be a forerunner artifact or object. If we assume the "Sleeping Princess" is a forerunner AI, then it makes sense that she could have been stored in the object the Apocalypso found. And with those assumptions, it makes sense that the Pious Flea would try to trap the Sleeping Princess.

Ooh, this is starting to clear up some other gaps! Very Happy

The flea is trying to find the truth, IE the sleeping princess. Maybe thats what !grope is, an attempt to find the truth stored inside the SP. As we have seen on the 404 pages, the flea hasn't had much luck by himself. So he starts changing Melissa, in order to use HER to capture the SP. He changes Melissa's mission objectives to be the same as his, so that she will try to capture the SP. Now Melissa obeys the Flea's orders, and the SP has been captured.

Am I going nuts, or does this make lots of sense?

Or, he's looking for where ONI hid it and he's hoping Melissa (or the SP) knows.
Can ONI prevent the artifact from giving off tracking signals?

I'm pretty much sold on your idea, Bob.

But if that were so, would not Melissa know the location of the princess as soon as the flea did?

If the Flea has control over Melissa, he could probably tell her whenever he wants that he knows where the Princess is.

Obviously the Flea needed some help with finding the "truth" inside of the Princess. So he goes and gets Melissa to capture her. Melissa doesn't know that the "truth" is within the Princess because she's still busy trying to find her crew. I think the Flea just used her to capture the Princess so he could have an easier time finding the truth for himself, while Melissa (searching for the same thing) is led in a different direction for the truth.

That actually amkes sense, but why would the flea reveal the truth? who would he reveal it to? and another thing, why do they have a step called behold, seriously isn't that plain common sense to behold something once you find it.

Yeah, I don't get the behold thing... But I also wanted to point out the other set of steps that Melissa chants sometimes. Seek, evade, resist, escape. Seek is common in both "commands", but evade resist and escape make no sense to me. Does this have anything to do with what we're talking about?

in abcs...the way I see it at least..this is assuming that the bug is a convent al of course..

A)Seek - Look at each portion of the server for whatever it is he's looking for (be it forerunner tech or something else..although there hasn't really been a something else to see..)

B)Behold - Scan each page carefully (The multiple !seek commands)

C)Reveal - send whatever he finds out to his higher ups..

gods I missed the two weeks I was without a computer for this game....Sad

I think the Flea's mantra makes sense if the Flea is just a generalized data miner.

After all, Melissa had the Flea and it was working on her BEFORE she found the artifact.

My view of the Flea suggests that:

Seek the truth mean,
Just do any data mining, passenger manifest, technical blueprints, love letters, just start finding any crap you can.

Behold the truth,
Make sure that what you send out the Covenant would actually find interesting. There goes those love letters and passenger manifests. (Since the Covenant see no reason to track individual humans)

Reveal the truth,
Hijack the nearest comm gear, or get an AI to build the stuff for you. Contact the Covenant directly, or broadcast the data.

The knowledge the Covenant would have of humanity might be extensive, or it might not. But the Seeker probably wasn't sent in with specific things to look for. After all, it might be something prosaic (to the Covenant) like human fusion reactor design, while the Flea passes up the SPARTAN mission plans to strike deep into Covenant space.
