Unless I am mistaken...

*goes to re-read creepypasta*

And to be honest....I don't know why I am trying to win.

I think that whole thing sounds odd. Alex is in it to win it despite knowing that someone died because of it and despite the fact that he was told not to enter because people thought it might be dangerous. I dunno, he sounds like off to me.

It did seem very flippant to me. Like he wasn't taking it seriously...

I'd agree. From his video, he didn't even follow all the instructions. For someone who wants to win, that's weird.

Yeah that seems like a slightly odd reply. Even if he had done it all correctly.
Let's be honest, what the feck are we even attempting to win?

Interestingly, we were never given a good or concrete reason to even ENTER.

Yeah. I thought we were all attempting to not lose honestly.

Didn't the guy from the original Rake story get so traumatized by the experience that he drove his car into a lake to get away from it all?

No, his daughter was attacked by The Rake and he accidentally drove the car into a lake trying to get her to a hospital. She survived, he didn't.

/whydoiknowthislolidk

Oh. I thought they both died.

It's implied that they both died. The "last words she spoke" line for her death.

Although, I think it's way up in the air if he accidently drove into the lake, did it on purpose, or was forced into the lake.

To clarify, he dies in the car. She died either in the house(and he's taking the hospital in vain) or she died in the car.

Either, I'm pretty sure they're both dead dead dead

HABIT himself seems to have told me that our entire purpose in these trials is to not end up like Ryan.

She probably died at home/on the way. He died in the accident.

But as Ouroborus stated, they are both Dead.

That's kind of what I love about the Rake creepy pasta. It's so goddamned vague. We don't know what was said to the father or the mother. We don't really know what the Rake did to the daughter..only that there was blood.

Seems like everyone's uploading theirs today, but I finally got my video done.

So many tech problems. UGH.

Alex's response is a little .... because no one knows what you're going to win. There is the chance of being HABIT's date to a slaughter fest, or betting slaughtered slow enough to enjoy the time with HABIT. Who knows. xD yet he wants to win/his brother not to.

also ;_; at ChildofAtom your video is <3

The point I was trying to bring up with that was that the father was clearly traumatized by what happened and ended up dead right after, possibly by suicide so that he could escape it.

Perhaps this is the same reason why Alex is partaking in a particularly dangerous tournament as well?

I think the claw marks are completely a EMH invention.

I think it's best if each person thinks what they want regarding the father. Adds to mystique.

And beyond that, we know (from the pasta) the Rake has driven at least one person to suicide.

Or Alex is kind of a punk kid who doesn't want to be told what to do and/or treated like a child by his not-that-much-older brother

I'd like to pretend that Alex is blissfully unaware of the implications of this contest since he probably just entered because he was told not to. But that's not possible. He's obviously not taking it seriously if he wants to win which includes beating the other boys and his brother. He has to be aware of what happens to those that are eliminated.
