Thinking a checklist of some sort might be a good idea. Like some one with a laptop, someone at home willing to help us with online things(ie flash based things). maps, lists of bookstores and where they are, etc. Bored and a bit obsessive pondering things. Is anyone on any other flynn arg msg boards that might have heard from the SF phone holder?

I'm not sure who has the phone for SF but hopefully we get someone! Since mostly everyone is agreeing to the downtown area, I was thinking we should all just meet up at a starbucks there? The one near the Metreon. There's a starbucks across the street from the metreon, it's close to Mel's Diner. Do you guys want to meet up there?

This might be a good staging area for everyone to be at before 8. we can get coffee and wait, then when it hits 8, we can move as a group, fanout , or wait more if need be.

My god! I just moved up to SF and haven't figured out the latest on FL until today! If the Unfiction gods are listening, can someone PLEASE catch me up on what is happening. I just moved here and don't have a clue. I work @ 3rd & Market which I know is close to Union Square, but i do not know what is happening with the whole final countdown thing!

PM me if needed. I'm glued to my work computer as we speak!

Thanks to all in advance ,

this is the thread for the full scoop, in short at 8am wed a countdown clock reaches zero, and something will happen in certain cities, san fransisco is mentioned, so a bunch of us want to be there and ready.

Wow! I don't check the FL site for two days, and you guys solve it lighteneing fast! Well, since a meet-up is inevitable, let's choose a spot. I'll be in the city by 7am by the latest, methinks we should all agree on a spot to meet up. Union Square IS a great central location, the Embracadero is a bit more off the path. So, let's agree on a spot as soon as we can. Besides, I'd like to meet some new peeps here considering I've just moved to the Bay Area!

I'm game for any meeting place!

Keep in mind that with the timer hitting zero at 8am our time, Muni and BART will be a mess with commuters going to work. Getting to different parts of the city will be a pain unless it's by walking.

If you guys are going to meet up in Soma, that lets you cover Union Square too since it's only a few blocks away. I'll stick to my hunch and stake out the North Beach area. Should it end up being the Embacadero, I can cover that as well.

Unless they throw a huge curveball and do it outside of the downtown core, we should have the major areas covered.

If all goes well, you can count me in too. I live in Chinatown, so like Grifta, have the downtown pretty accessible to me.

The one thing I do want to point out, however, is that during The Dark Knight campaign and the bowling ball hunt, 42E ended up choosing the bowling alley in the Presidio which is one of the furthest places you can get from Downtown. So the possibilities are pretty open to where they may choose locations.

More likely than not, I'll be driving into the city just in case wherever we meet isn't close to where we need to be or whatever happens. And I'm willing to drive others around, buuuuuuut...I drive a Mini Cooper so yeah...

That sounds like a plan! Very Happy I will probably be there around 7:30ish. I live near SF State so I have to commute there and I'm not sure how the muni is in the morning haha.

Are we all agreeing on the Starbucks location near the Metreon? if so, I'll be there! I work a block away, so if needed, we can stop in at my work before 8 & check the countdown location reveal!

Or hopefully someone will bring a flash-enabled device?

Can't wait,

Of all the days they had to do something it had to be the day I come back from my little Disneyland trip! I work until 3:30, and can probably be out in the city by 4:30-5. I'm hoping whatever is going down happens later in the day, but I won't hold my breath. You can put me down, but I'll probably be living the search through you guys if it happens earlier in the day.

Maybe I should call in sick?

I'm still trying to figure out the EXACT time the timer stops! I believe that it will stop at 8am on Wednesday? Please correct me if I am wrong. I don't want to be late!

Thanks all,
AlanOne

Starbucks by the Metreon works for me. If no one else can or wants to, I can bring my laptop so we can keep an eye on the countdown.

That is correct.

I have a car and will be down in Union Square area @ around 7:45am in the morning of, i agree it would probly be best to camp out near Union Square

But as others said it might be closer to city lights, and that would make a lot of sense because of it's long history. if so it's not a far drive in a car to get there/or to run there since parking will be HELL at tbat time
(My car will fit an extra 3 people with me/my girlfrined)

Is there a definite meet up place/time yet? I'll be there if so.

OT: How do you like your mini? I'm in the market for a good used Mini S automatic because my Volve S60R is so huge lol.

I know there's a place in the website to put your cell number on the flynn website, but is there 1 specific person for the city too?

How about Starbucks on 3rd & Market, we can then walk up to Union Square. They've got free Internet & shoot off to whatever loacation we need in a flash! Parking that early won't be too bad. I'll be there at about 6:30-7.

Either way we are going to need an WiFi/Something-With-Flash spot to watch them timer & receive instructions!

So, Starbucks the Union Square?

Let's do it! Wink

I'm leaning towards calling in sick that day to partake in this event. The thing is, I absolutely hate driving in the city. If my gf and I BART into the city, is there any chance we can link up with some of you fine folks? I'd be willing to split any parking bills, and can give some gas money. There's also a few elecTRONica tokens in it for you as well!

I'll also point out, that despite living in the Bay Area my entire life, I don't know my way around the city.
