Another fanfic. THE PLOT BUNNIES ARE STRONG WITH THIS ONE.

Title: while you're lying in the dark
Warnings: slash (vince/evan), creeeepiness, cuddles.

Quote:
Evan thinks that, all things considered, he's a pretty lucky guy.

Yeah, there's the whole being-stalked-by-a-faceless-freak thing, but it hasn't been around lately, and while Evan isn't naïve enough to think their bought of car-fu has driven it off forever, he's starting to get a lot more hopeful now that they've pulled off their jailbreak.

Because Damsel's with them now. Sleeping on Jeff's couch as a matter of fact, curled up underneath an afghan. He looks up at her from his spot on floor, noting the way she scrunches up her face when she sleeps. He thinks that's kind of cute.

Then he grins a little and shifts around to press closer to Vinnie. Not that he's looking or anything.

Vince twitches a little, and his grin widens. Morning, sunshine, he can't help but think, and he reaches down to entwine their hands. This, right here, is what makes him a lucky guy. Out of all the things that could have emerged from this Slender Man mess, this was the one he never expected. Him and Vinnie, together.

He twists his body around and reaches up to the coffee table with his free hand. Vince's glasses fall into his palm even as he starts coming back to consciousness. His whole body shakes from the yawn and Evan feels a tug on their clasped hands. He lets go, a little reluctantly, and Vince sits up, rubbing at his eyes. (Which is never going to stop being adorable and he never wants to miss mornings like this, and oh Jesus that's how Evan knows that he's up to his ass in this crazy karmic-chi love thing.)

Evan sits up too, and without a word, slides Vinnie's glasses onto his face. Vinnie smiles at him, probably just as he's coming into focus, and that's never getting old either.

The rest of the house is still sleeping, and they keep their silence as they put the blankets away, moving quietly so as not to disturb anyone. Evan makes it to the kitchen first, and decides on toast. It's a bit of a tradition.

Vinnie comes up behind him as he's waiting on the second pair of bread slices, wrapping an arm around his waist and pressing a kiss behind Evan's right ear. His toes curl in their socks and a shiver runs down his spine. Yeah, he's definitely a lucky guy.

"Missed you last night," Vince mumbles against his hair.

"Hmm?" Evan snaps out of his fit of abstraction.

"You got up last night," Vince says, sounding amused. "Pulled out your laptop and started fiddling with it. You're not as quiet as you think you are. I could hear you bitching all the way in the living room." He plants another kiss, this one lower down on Evan's neck. He doesn't seem to notice that Evan's spine has gone straight as a rod.

He tries to keep his voice normal when he speaks. He can't make this into a big deal, not this early in the morning. "I didn't get a good look at the clock. When was I up?"

"A little before midnight, I think." Vince prods his stomach playfully. "Checking up on your Twitter? Playing games with all your fangirls?"

Evan stares at the wall, unseeing. The bread pops up in the toaster, slightly burnt, just the way he likes it. "Yeah," he says quietly. "Just playing games."

All of a sudden, he doesn't feel so lucky anymore.

Thank you for literally the best before finals wake up ever love. Smile You MMD.

So, let's say you're getting someone into EMH. What are the essentials that they need to see?

Obviously, all the videos on the EMH channel, and probably all of Alex's videos. Should I pull in some of the more plot-crucial posts from Damsel? Maybe have some wiki pages ready to reference twitter conversations or when boxes/letters were found? I figure it should probably be presented in chronological order of when things were released (so based on the wiki timeline)... any thoughts?

Yeah, chronologically always works best.

I think EMH itself would disagree.

honestly, the important bits are the main youtube and alex's youtube. for damsel, you can have them read the wiki page on her. it'll have all they need to know about her involvement in the plot and you won't have to wade through her blog for relevant posts. if they don't know about the rake, link them to the copypasta after ccnb. the twitters are for when they have a good handle on the basics and want the gaps filled in.

I'm doing this with my friend, and we're going to try to follow the timeline from the wiki and I'll clear shit up when needed. But I mostly want to stay out of it so I don't influence her in any way.

I think my roommate is mostly going to trust me to keep them updated on any happenings once we get caught up, so it's not like they're going to bookmark the twitter feeds or anything. (Although they did say that they wanted to get involved if there's another large participation section, like HABIT's trials.)

And finding plot-relevant posts on CYSTW is basically an excuse for me to go back through it and watch music videos. Smile

(Aside: raven, I just noticed your location, and I must pause a moment to give you an internet high-five. Neverwhere ftw.)
