I find it interesting that "good_grief" seems to come right after "it_never_snows".
It could just be coincidence, or maybe Melissa "trusts" us enough to release the clips sequentially?
Hmmm, I guess we'll know once (if) ice_cream goes active.

EDIT - Although the first three clips take place in the right order, it sounds like we are missing some in the sequence. I guess the first two were jus coincidence after all.
*sigh* there isn't even a wind up at the start of "it_never_snows". I can't beleive I missed that Embarassed

Well 2/3 of Pittsburgh's axons down. I answered #1, then #2 was a spike but another guy was there before me Sad Oh well, next time maybe. Does anyone know if an axon crew recruitment means that phone won't ring next week?

I lit the 8:11 PDT axon. Wasn't live, but i tired calling the Princess' name when it broke down into ilovebees at the end. Nothing happened.

Oh well, at least we're 3/3.

What name did you call? From what I understand, there are a great load of possibilities.

SP name

If you look here http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6797&start=15 you'll find that Gilada got a response just from saying "Sleeping Princess", but it was during a live call. I'd be interested to see what happens if any other names are tried.

I said both "Princess" and "Sleeping Princess". Guess it's a "live call" thing, since the ilovebees was because of it ending, not really Melissa (emotionally) breaking down.

Yeah, I'm figuring it was a live call thing, because the 6:29 call was a recording, and Bob_13_13 tried saying Sleeping Princess, Pious Flea, Melissa, Operator, nothing worked.

Are we still going with the theory that there are parallels with the whole SP thing and Sleeping Beauty?

From what we were talking about on IRC, Sleeping Beauty was originally called Sleeping Princess. In the story she was named Aurora but was later renamed by the faries as Briar Rose.

So when (if) she breaks down try one of those names. Its worth a shot.

Looks like xnbomb didn't answer his phone... that seems odd doesn't it?
What happened?

8:21 Santa Cruz, CA

Good news, bad news.

Good news: the 8:21 Santa Cruz, CA axon is hot.
Bad news: the 8:21 Santa Cruz, CA axon was live, and while Inio rocks at organizing info and programming, his on-the-spot Kareoke was not up to Melissa's standards.. so there will be no Santa Cruz recruits (this week?)

He was asked his favorite song, and then asked to sing it.. so to all you axon hunters: in case you haven't already, get a song prepared. Pick one out, know the lyrics, and be ready to justify it's existance.

Also, I had a plan to try and get two people recruited at once (which I didn't get to try out since I showed up late to the axon, and we got the call before I could say it.) It was basically to get one person signed up and secure in the crew with a lower rank.. something like Private, Sergeant, Lance Corpral.. and after that ask if Melissa would like to talk to their "Superior Officer".. who sets themselves up as a Major or First Lieutennant... maybe tell her that the Sergent's orders were to secure a line of communication to the Operator, then to contact the Major. It might be risky and the PMs might just pull the plug on both of them.. but if it works... nifty. (especially in a one-Axon town like Santa Cruz)

PS: PMs if you're reading this.. don't give up on Santa Cruz. Now that I'm back online I am not going to miss another call.

got the 8:45 PDT Kent axon -- and a live call.

did the stormy weather chorus -- She sang the verse/chorus (very well I might add). She then asked me my favorite song. I answered "Birdhouse In Your Soul" by They Might Be Giants and sang the lines:

Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul

and she started flipping out about the bees in the song Wink

then we did the name/rank/ship thing (ensign tofu of the apocolypso, reporting for duty), and she told me of the rouge process that was contained and who cannot get out.

lots of street noise today (of course) made some of the call difficult to hear, but it went pretty well all in all...

heh, I'm just waiting for someone to do 'Basket Case' by Green Day Razz

I bet a lot of people think you are one when you pick up a ringing phone in the middle of the day and start singing to it. Laughing

Just did

Just got back from the 8:59 saint louis axon.

Answered the call which came about 3 minutes late.

Instead of Stormy Weather, I say Stormy Waters, still took it though (w00t!)

No live call though.

The clip is like they were, it is now hot, so I will just summarize it.

Jan and J^2 were driving through the town, and Jan sees an Ice Cream shop she remembers going to in preschool.

They stop and J^2 tries to keep her from going to it for some reason.

She remembers pumpkin pie ice cream, and her mother in this clip.

I'm a terrible singer, so I've been going through my winamp list for a while, trying to find a song I can actually do justice, in case I get a live one. Basketcase was one I was considering. Razz

The only other one I can think of is "Sheep Go To Heaven", by Cake. It's incredibly easy.
