Puzzle: Acheron BD Login

Okay, I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd play around with the login page on the minidisc we got today. The title of the page is Acheron BD Login, though I have no idea what the BD means.

First off, the page presents us with a standard user/pass login screen. Each entry gives an intermediate page with some garbled text (which is actually a redirect to http://www.nru.us/physics/bd.php ), which changes from entry to entry, then a kickout page. I'll log some here:

There are more, I'm just sleepy.

The redirect doesn't seem to be dependent on the password attempted, as I used Jake/test for all of the above.

If anyone can make anything of that garbled text, I'm open to suggestions.

ConspiracyArchive.com

So the NRU page was then redirecting to other webpages?

Here's another one I got this morning by just clicking on the nru link above.
http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/

I see a common theme. Are there more pages?

I feel bad. Most of us visitors just went back to our hotels and crashed. The natives went home and STAYED UP ALL NIGHT!

kona forgot to mention (altho I'm sure she told you in chat): the note they finally found at the convention center said something like:
Y! IM LLL_PLLC but Space, imbri, scarpe, mott, laz could not hook up - the ID was not active (musta missed him) - tried to IM him or to log in as him (still no use for the mysterious "FOIA" found on the back of my LLL business card).

Thus we assume Mr. Lake realized we missed that connection and left us something at Hard Rock. Did kona mention (I think not) that about a half hour after the waiter brought us the messaqe to visit the concierge, Steve received a phone call on HIS cellphone -- a caller (male) who asked if we had gotten a message. Hmmmm. Who else has Steve's cell #? Hmmm.

I haven't been in chat, and I am extremely confused (which isn't that out of the ordinary).

Could someone please do a quick summary on how we went from calling this LLL to Acheron. And how Acheron figures into this story. I have read all posts from the last few days, but I'm just not getting it.

~cem~apologizing for being dense.

BD = backdoor? Shocked

Any possibility of posting that logon.html file so we can play around with it?

Cem, afaik there was never really an official name, I think it was just called L3 since the initial contact was with Landau, Luckman and Lake.

The "game" never referred to itself as L3 (that I'm aware of), but now with the discs that were received in Vegas with the Acheron trailer and the redirect of the L3 website to acheron.us, we seem to have an "official" name to go by.

As for how Acheron figures into the story, we don't really know that; frankly we don't even know what the story is yet. What we've seen so far may not even be pivotal to the story but rather the vehicle to introduce us to the story.

The other thing I didn't realize was that the L3 website was now Acheron, because I was just there last night and it was still the "FBI/Investigation" stuff. So that makes it a little clearer for me why it's no longer L3.

Well, to be honest, you're confused about being confused. Do they cancel each other or do they multiply?

BTW I'm HERE and I still had to get Spacely and imbri to 'splain why the name changed overnight. So count me confused too.

Don't know if it helps at all but I figured out this is what the background on logon.html is saying (bg.jpg in the images folder). I don't understnd any of it but I think it's some sort of Linux thing (something about a kernal boot log). Maybe those who are more tech savvy than me can make sense of it. Confused
