Yeah, one of my local electronics retailers was offering the same deal for the shirt. They also had a free $30 gift card on the 360 & PS3 versions as well as the DS version for $19. Picked up 360 & DS and got a couple shirts for my kids. Score. Smile

I think this game is rather mediocre, which is a shame.

And the Wii version - which isn't even the full Evolution game - is just a recyc of the old Phantom Menace podracing game from the N64.

I might just reinstall Tron 2.0 instead.

LOL I just installed Tron 2.0 last night and started playing. I forgot most of the story, and forgot how much I love that game.

As for Evolution, I'm hoping I might get it for Christmas, but if not I have a 25$ gift card to Gamestop I could use...after Christmas heh.

My collector's edition finally arrived. Started playing, haven't gotten too far because I keep derezzing! Terrible controls, the camera does what it wants to do. I emailed Sideshow to ask if they actually made such a poor quality model lightcycle or if someone just used their name as a way to get people to buy the collector's edition.

I've found that the only free running section that really blows is the first level right after the first boss battle.

You're not alone, my friend. It seems like they took the idea of Prince of Persia (being able to rewind time), and just figured, "Eh, let's just let them die whenever and we'll just restart them fast." There are some sections where it seems 10-20 deaths in a row is expected. It's ESPECIALLY frustrating when you have to see the same instruction text/sequence over and over and over and over...would it have been that hard to remember that they already told you?

I hate that you wound up being the guinea pig on that one, but good to know that others should avoid it. I had seriously considered the collectors edition for the light cycle. I'm sorry that it sucks. Sad

I wish it was better, I really do. But my big beefs are the ridiculously demanding controls, you have a very narrow range of where to place the stick to get what you want. The game makes no effort to interpret your controls intent. Like the energy wall (ETC) that's vertical right on the corner of a big drop off. I just made it through a bunch of bad guys, ran to the wall and I apparently wasn't exactly perfect so instead of running up the wall, I vaulted off the ledge to my doom. After a lot of other frustration up to that point, I just turned off the xbox before I yelled at the game anymore.

Second, you can hardly tell you even being hit. You get a very faint beeping warning when you are about to die, and it's usually too late because a disc is on the way.

Third, you can't tell most of the bad guys apart very easily so you don't know which one takes which attack.

Fourth, the cut scenes are very abrupt. You get to the solar sailor, and you're on it for like 10 seconds. No boarding, no getting it going, just suddenly it's moving, and you get 2 seconds to look around, then suddenly it's stopping (indicative of most of the cut-scenes). Like when Flynn and Tron are escaping, they just walk off scene.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Then you're told their dead, and you have no idea why, and it doesn't follow with any storyline, so confusing as hell, and breaks immersion

Fifth, virtually no indicators of what you're supposed to do at times. For instance, when the tank is shooting at you at the beginning of this tunneled walkway, a door opens for all the NPCs to run through. I expect, "this is my way out!" only to run into an invisible barrier you can't cross. (Why don't the NPC's get clobbered too, btw?) At the end of this tunnel a building is going to fall on you, and it tells you absolutely nothing about where you're supposed to go. So you just do it over and over again til you guess right, because you have 2 seconds to react. Btw, I ended up jumping off the edge onto a building next to it that I apparently wasn't supposed to jump to, but it let me, and I hung out there for a minute before realizing I wasn't supposed to go there.

Sixth, user interaction is pretty shoddy. You get only a few seconds to see how to defeat new bad guys, and you only get it once, can't view the database in game, and they never tell you how to switch between heavy disc and bomb disc (found it accidentally, thought it was a result of combos).

Seventh, before entering a difficult combat zone, the checkpoint is through a series of bland and boring platforming that you have to do OVER and OVER because you keep dying (because of things like jumping off a ledge when trying to get health. Why the hell would you ever want to do that, anyhow?)

So, in general, a VERY frustrating game. I'll play through it just to finish it and experience the story, but I'll never play through the campaign again.

I'm playing on hard, btw, which I do with all games. And if anyone wants to call my gaming cred into question, i've been playing games for 25 years, so it's not just little things. There simply is no excuse for these design flaws.

Oh, and the crappy (worse word more applicable, but not polite) light cycle in the collector's edition is stamped plastic. Worse than the $20 light cycles made by spin master that you can get at Target, yet they charge $70 more for the game because of it. That was a huge waste of money.

Gotcha, skip the collectors edition. Thanks. I'll probably get it & play through on easy just for the story.

BTW tagruato123, that shirt is epic. Want! There's no movie trading co out here in CA though..

Everything that Eolith said and I'm gonna go ahead and say the unpolite word. That model lightcycle is a piece of shit! First off, how the hell does Sideshow Collectible make something so cheap and hideous and not even put their name on it!? I guess they were embarrassed (I bet that's why they haven't replied to my email about it either...). Next, over in the unofficial fan group on Facebook, there was a huge debate about whether or not the thing lit up. After watching like 6 unboxing vids and massive searches on the internet, I discovered that the cycles are supposed to light up. Oddly, mine doesn't. And when I tried to unscrew the battery hatch, I couldn't get to the screw head because it's at a strange slant and finally getting the screwdriver teeth in, the angle would've cause the head to strip!

So I called TRU.com, after they already gave me $30 back for shipping it so late, they're giving me a full refund and paying for me to ship it back. I'm keeping the $10 movie money and DLC code. I'll probably give the DLC away as a contest prize on twitter. My advice: DO NOT BUY TRON: EVOLUTION. AT ALL. NOT THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION, NOT THE REGULAR EDITION. BOYCOTT THE GAME!!!!!!!
