[info?] [spec?] Sing to me!

I would like a thread that deals mainly with how Melissa reacts to the songs you sing to her. In one forum I was reading someone mentioned that Melissa goes wild if the word "bee" is in the song.

Does anyone else get the same reaction for any other words? I think this is an insight in to what we might be able to use to make her "fall apart"

Also, if anyone has suggstions of songs to sing, please feel free to bring it up here. It looks like top_hat didn't go live so we'll also have a chance tomorrow to figure this out.

Someone in another thread suggested "I Will Survive," to see if she'd react to her old motto.

Suggestion song: Baby Bumblebee (Children's song)

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Ouch! It stung me!

I'm squishing up the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee,
Ooh! It's yucky!

More suggestions:
Has anyone tried a religious song? I wonder how an AI would react to something like that!
What about a song in a foreign language? Would she be able to recognize or partially understand it?

Song of choice

If my axon was still working (phone has gone dead), I was already planning on singing the chorus from Northwest Passage by Stan Rogers--a song about the adventurers who shipwrecked trying to find a passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific north of Canada. I love the song, but also it seemed like she might go with the idea of shipwrecks...

If I got a live call, I'd sing "Once Upon a Dream" (the theme from Sleeping Beauty).

I guess that shows where my loyalties lie. Smile

BUSY BEE Lyrics
Artist(Band):Ugly Kid Joe

Everybody's alright with me
Possibly you'll disagree
Busy bee watch the world go by
Everybody's alright with me
That's just the way I choose to be
Everybody's on my mind
Can't sit aside and watch his world go by
That ain't me
Busy Bee watch the world go by
Everybody does their time
The people walk in crooked lines
Everybody's got their choice
But often we don't use our voice
Busy Bee watch the world go by
How could you be so blind
Some people they just ain't satisfied
Watch the world go by
I always hear the school bell ring
Let the children dance and sing
Just let us find what's been lost
So many people get torn and tossed away
Busy Bee watch the world go by
Everybody's alright with me

Honey Bee Lyrics
Artist:Tom Petty

Come on now, give me some sugar
Give me some sugar, little honey bee
Don't be afraid, not gonna hurt you
I wouldn't hurt my little honey bee

Don't say a word, 'bout what we're doin'
Don't say nothin' little honey bee
Don't tell your momma, don't tell your sister
Don't tell your boyfriend, little honey bee

She like to call me king bee
She like to buzz 'round my tree
I call her honey bee
I'm a man in a trance
I'm a boy in short pants
When I see my honey bee
And I've got something to say

Look here now, peace in the valley
Peace in the valley with my honey bee
Don't say a word, 'bout what we're doin'
Don't say nothin ' little honey bee

She give me her monkey hand
And a rambler sedan
I'm the king of milwaukee
Her juju beads are so nice
She kissed my third cousin twice
I'm the king of pomona
And I've got something to say

yeah, she was almost giddy when I sang the line from "Birdhouse In Your Soul"

Not to put to fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet

she repeated the "bee in your bonnet" line and then came the "I love bees" swarm Wink

Does this scream "Magic Words" to anybody else?

Perhaps Dana's story from a few weeks back can come in handy here?

...in addition to suggesting "I Will Survive", I also added Destiny's Child's "Survivor", if anyone wants to give it a try...

If I can escape from this homework-hell (stupid University >_>) I will sing Gravity by Yoko Kanno

been a long road to follow
been there and gone tomorrow
without saying goodbye to yesterday
are the memories I hold still valid?
or have the tears deluded them?
maybe this time tomorrow
the rain will cease to follow
and the mist will fade into one more today
something somewhere out there keeps calling
am I going home?
will I hear someone singing solace to the silent moon?
zero gravity what's it like?
am I alone?
is somebody there beyond these heavy aching feet
still the road keeps on telling me to go on
something is pulling me
I feel the gravity of it all

Another possible song.

Nine Inch Nails' La Mer, translated into English (originally french). Not so much a song as a poem with music behind it, but still...

And when the day arrives
I'll become the sky
And I'll become the sea

And the sea will come to kiss me
For I am going
Home

Nothing can stop me now
