Jamison Jones

Could this be a nod to the Spiderman character J. Jonah Jameson?

I'm not a huge comic book fan, but here's what I found out about him...

Although he has no superpowers, perhaps no one is more of a nemesis to Spider-Man than the cantankerous J. Jonah Jameson. As publisher of the Daily Bugle, this cigar-chomping newspaperman has dedicated his life to destroying the Web-swinger's reputation. In Jameson's mind, the world would be a perfect place without the presence of its superpowered inhabitants — especially that of Spider-Man!

Can anyone draw any parallels to put this in perspective or is it merely coincidence?

Perhaps Mr. Jones doesn't work for the IRS/gov't. Maybe, instead, he really works for Watermark (which would explain why the casino guy did what he wanted when he showed his "badge." I thought that maybe he was sent there to find out exactly what Jim knows and what he doesn't and to keep Jim from telling a real attorney (that would help him) his story. He seems helpful, but I thought maybe that was to keep Jim pacified and believing in the ruse.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is, here's your parallel... maybe...

...In Jameson's/Jones'/Watermark's mind, the world/Push would be a perfect place without the presence of its superpowered/nosy inhabitants/visitors — especially that of Spider-Man/Jim Prufrock!

That's the only parallel I see anyway.

Good Points

You make some good points, but I was wondering if we had any Spidey fans here that could add to my limited knowledge of J. Jonah Jameson. Other than the paragraph I put out there, all I know is that Jameson was Peter Parker's (Spiderman's) employer. Is there anything else about Jameson that may relate to our Jamison?

There have got to be some graphic novel readers out there!

Thanks,

Dia
