While I like this theory, I want to hit both sides of it:

First, in favor: the madness could have been part of the "slenderization" process; Slim Jim was becoming the Slenderman.

Second, against: There was already "The Man" protecting Baby Vince before Corenthal was involved in their lives at all.

Hm. I went on a creepypasta binge a couple of months ago, and one of the stories that struck me was about a baby that everybody adored and became completely obsessed with, stealing it away from and murdering whoever was currently taking care of it. I can't dig it up now, but there is a creepypasta precedent for children that make people want to be their parents.

Not saying this is what they're going for, but it could explain how both Corenthal and Slendy see the boys as their children.

I know which one you're on about. It's the one where the baby.....isn't alive anymore...to put it nicely. They all become obsessed and do what they can to take care of this little "angel"............I think I cried when I read that...............I think that was just pregnancy hormones though.

Yes! That's exactly the one. I'd forgotten the "angel" bit but that helped me finally track it down. Thanks!

Mr. Widemouth isn't it. I'm pretty sure the title of the story is "The Smiling Man."

Ah-ha! Some google-fu, and I found it. The Smiling Man in Black.

Hm. Reading over it again... I think I might be wrong. I don't know. I think at this point, Slenderman still makes more sense as our candidate, but I do so enjoy planting the little epileptic saplings.

Oh God Sad That's such a depressing story.

Going over and refining alejlujah's transcript of HospitalFire.wav, although it's almost perfect as is, he (?) did a good job with it. I'll post the text file in a while.

well, the corenthal=slendy theory was discussed a long time ago, along with corenthal=rake and corenthal=habit.
pretty much anything is workable, if you think it through enough.

warning: typos and severely ridiculous epileptic trees ahead

if one or more of the kids has the ability to warp reality/create monsters, we can use this to explain the corenthal=slendy, but also explain away the smiling man and habit. so one kid warps corenthal into slenderman. not surprising in the least- the mining town 4 were orphans and severely mentally damaged; having a family-like situation full of happiness, as described in the letters, would be heaven. imo slendy would be one of the last ones created. 'habit' is created in evan, because his mother had called him 'habit', there is a short story in which a child tells his mother about all the horrible things a kid in his class does, but is actually reffering to himself. same concept, albeit more extreme. he beleives in this other personality, and so it becomes true (reality warp!). vince is being abused by the reverend green, needs protection, warps reality and bam! smiling man. the slenderman is so similar to the smiling man because vince shares his story with the other kids and when whomever creates slendy out of corenthal creates slendy (presumably damsel) creates him in a similar image, but keeps slight similarities to corenthal (suit, maybe? proffessional attire b/c he was a doctor). so the basic function of slendy would serve to keep the family together at all costs. and nothing but the family (explains dead parents. fear for alex.). if jessie is jessalyn, we can presume that time is repeating itself in refference to when the doctor was deciding to take linnie away and/or send her away.

on the other hand, if habit= corenthal... corenthal is very territorial of his kids. the remarks that habit makes against the docotor could be cynicism and exasperation after the doctor failed to save everyone n the past; he is essentially disdaining his own failures. habit seems in consenus to be evan, but i feel like we are missing the importance ofm the fact that corenthal scribbled HABIT on his notes. unless the story has since shifted. idk.

if rake=corenthal, we might be able to make the connection in a similar but different manner. corenthal becomes the rake in effort to help/save the children, since habit has told us that he is not the rake, and that the rake is, more of a licked-dog. he also makes hateful remarks towards the doctor/about doctors because of corenthals failures.

about the time-thing as well: if one of the kids, or more than one of the kids, can distort reality, then time is not an issue. virtually everything and anything has been made to liking of the kids, from the x-box, to the computer, to the date everyone here THINKS it is; merely because a child decided that the date would eb better if it was a different number. the cover-ups? sure, it could be slendy, or it could be...one of the mining town 4.

The complete transcript's been posted on the Wiki.

...

The boys running down SM in Ashen Waste is decided at roughly five minutes and fifty-five seconds into the video.

During Sleep Lab Part 2 - Evan's Dream Log, during day 4, Evan mentions the bags hanging in the trees in his dream at exactly five minutes and fifty-five seconds into the video. It is interesting to note that during day two of Sleep Lab Part 1 - Sleep Deprivation (which is day 4 of Sleep Lab Part 2 - Evan's Dream Log), at 3:29, they find the photos that apparently came from A Day in the Life in a back room in the basement. Evan wakes up from his nightmare at the exact same time.

In Reunion, the camera drops and films SM upside-down, behind the boys, at exactly three minutes and twenty-nine seconds in.

During Cops Checked, No Body, the boys are discussing the photos they found in Sleep Lab Part 1 - Sleep Deprivation at three minutes and twenty-nine seconds in.

Jeff is woken up by Evan in Alex at exactly three minutes and twenty-nine seconds in.

In A Day in the Life, the strange house appears exactly five minutes and fifty-five seconds into the video.

...

Just some things I've looked at. Probably insignificant, but you can never be too sure, right?

That's some impressive work! Thanks for putting in all the time.

I think that best practices for transcripts usually exclude stutters and vocalizations like "um" and "er" on purpose, though, allowing for easier reading at the expense of strict phonic accuracy. You've done an amazing job in transcribing exactly what the sounds in the clip are, but I think a cleaned-up version might be more useful. Anybody else have any thoughts?

hmm.. I wonder what significance 3:29 could have.. (3/29?).. the 5:55 thing.. hmm.. well, in other blogs and vlogs, numbers like that (4:44, 5:55, 1:11, etcetera) have seemed to have some minor importance to when certain events happen in the entries..I think it was either in TT or MH that the main character (either Noah or Jay) woke up at a time like this. (I think it was Noah..)
