Well, once again, team Boise is 6/6 for the day. Team Idaho is 8/9. Darn Moscow! and of course it had to be in "top_hat". We'll try again tomorrow. But we added another "crewmember" to team Boise .... Justin from Pizza Hut. Yep, the manager we convinced to answer the phones early in the morning in the Pizza Hut is now Lt. Furious Jack Laughing

Davis, CA

Davis is 1 for 1 for the sixth time! Good turnout today with seven 'keepers attending, one who had only been in Davis for two days, plus a bunch of us veterans.

I have never seen a caller at this 3rd and C street phone, but when I arrived 25 minutes early a woman was having an animated conversation on the phone. Her conversation continued as the 'keepers assembled. With three minutes to go we moved into her view and she began to look alarmed. She asked "are you waiting to use the phone?" and we said "Yes!" almost in unison. She said that she was talking to a student in Hawaii who had been trying to reach her for three weeks, but that she would get off soon. Two minutes later we were all starting to fidget and Blueninja offered her his cell phone! She continued to talk but was seeming to be winding down. Finally she hung up and about 45 sec later we got the call.

Standard message to enhottenate sharp_little_needle. Bummer, after listening to clips of the Billie Holliday, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Liza Minellli versions of Stormy Weather on the iTunes Music Store this morning I thought that I had a pretty good rendition ready for Melissa!

top_hat was my personal call, so I posted the clip in the interaction forum.

Curses! Only one Axon near me - North Ogden, Utah, 13:49 PDT (41.305260 -111.968520) - and it's either missing or dead.

Showed up at the spot half an hour early, and there was no phone right on the spot that the GPS showed. There were, however, 3 payphones relatively close by, so I figured they were within the margin of error for the GPS. Two were close together, the other across the parking lot, so I sat down next to the two close ones. No call.

About a minute before the call was to come (going by my watch, anyway), someone started camping out around the third phone. I didn't want to leave my post, so I didn't get to ask them if they were part of ILB or not, but they stared at the phone for about ten minutes, then called it quits. I waited another ten, then left as well.

Question from a n00b: If an Axon isn't picked up one day, will it ring the next? I'd like to see if maybe I got the coordinates wrong or missed a payphone or something, and try again tomorrow.

Ah well. sharp_little_needle was unlocked just the same. That's what matters. Smile

Went to the 14:59 axon in Palo Alto, but some lady was on the phone and would not get off. I asked her if she could move phones, there is one right next to the one that gets the call, but no. She wasn't even talking to someone and continued hanging up and redialing five times.

Live Call: 14:53 / so_sad

Here's a preliminary report from the live call that was received at the 14:53 / so_sad axon in Portland, as relayed to me by Ouroborus over the phone. Forgive me if I get some details wrong; he should be on later when he can do a better job of reporting.

As mentioned above, they ended up in a live call with Melissa. They were successful in getting the Sleeping Princess to speak with them in the standard manner.

First she told them about a machine across the street from her with a red balloon on it. They told her to go over to it. Then she told them she saw a bench that "looked like it had been run over by a machine," which also had a red balloon attached to it. They again convinced her to go over to the bench. Then she saw a red balloon on an electric generator, which they also told her to go to.

At this point the Sleeping Princess came to the fork in the road with three balloons. They were: Noble Truths, Fateful Apostles, and Deadly Sins. After (as Ouroborus put it) a LOT of convincing, they got the Sleeping Princess to follow the Deadly Sins fork.

Then she came to a Mirror. They asked her to look in the Mirror and she got upset, saying she didn't want to because "the Metal Lady told her if she looked in the Mirror, her family would die."

They persuaded her relentlessly and eventually she gave in and looked, then degenerated into sobbing, at which point Melissa returned.

Ouroborus suggested alternative possibilities such as telling the Sleeping Princess to sneak by the Mirror, or maybe throw something at it to break it.

As far as the crew members go, Melissa took the info for both Ensign Feros and Ensign Ouroborus. Two at once!

If she did that, I wonder if she'd take someone who wasn't there but who a trusted crewmember vouched for?

*jumps up an ddown* PICK MEEEEE! lol.

My guess is that this turn of events is due to the fact that someone tipped Melissa off to the "SABOTAGE!" that's going on...

Team Pittsburgh is 3/3 today. We had one spike call, and 2 recordings.

My personal phone was Enough_Roughage and my axon enhottenating set off the block, so it's available for download.

That's all I got today. Until next week.

Just for the record, I answered the 7:19 PDT call in Nashua, NH. It wasn't live, but at least I made the axon hot. Smile

Dammit. I was at the 10:13 40.733500 -073.995293 Axon, but the phone didn't ring, and there was just a dialtone when I picked it up anyway. Lost my lunch hour and got back to work 10 minutes late. I did get to hit the 15:25 Axon in the Empire State building, wasn't live but I finally got a call.
