Whenever someone's 'secret' identity is too obvious I always eventually come to the thought, "Well, someone could have just gone out of their way to frame that guy and they're doing it very convincingly." Like, where is Brian? I always thought Mask could be Brian framing Tim. Actually, in that theory, wearing a mask to conceal your identity totally makes sense.

I'm pretty sure that Tim = Masky, but I have a question. I've been told that Masky = TTA (which would lead to TTA being Tim, but whatever). Do we have any proof that Masky = TTA or is it just an assumption?

It's conjecture, but not unconsidered. The evidence is tenuous but nothing more convincing has presented itself thus far. The main reasons why TTA is considered by many to be Masky are

a) Jay refers in entry #19.0 to his suspicion that the guy in the mask being Totheark. Truthfully, this can be easily refuted by the fact that Jay would have no idea whether or not that was true, not to mention his status as an unreliable narrator. The main reason that this would convince us, however, is kinda meta -- the creators may have wanted to let us know that they intended TTA to be the guy in the mask by having Jay bring it up. Jay very rarely appears to bring up theories on his own, so it's remarkable that he did so in this case and was probably done for a reason.

b) In entry #16, when Jay visits Brian's house for the first time, he falls over and has a coughing fit. This footage appears almost immediately afterwards, in the Totheark video "Addition". Later, in entry #18, Jay encounters Masky in the house in almost exactly the same place the video was taken from. This suggests (though by no means irrefutably) that Masky was the one taking the footage, which therefore means that Masky is either TTA or working very closely with TTA.

Well, with all these theories, the real question is who Masky is not. It seems like we would reach a conclusion more quickly by crossing out theories than trying to find the most plausible ones.

The more I think about it, the more I am starting to believe that Masky IS J from another time, though not necessarily the future trying to stop J from finishing what he starts to save his life. It might even be where J went when he walked through the dimensional door last season.

I could be way off, and I want to get side by side pictures of entry 33 to really solidify my theory. I will try to post a screenshots of Masky from the side and J at 1:47 in 33.

Masky is Tim. The signs are so obvious I am actually surprised we are even still talking about who Masky is past 2009.
