Not sure about either of those, but you can download a converter pretty easy. I use flvtoavi. I also highly recommend using VideoPad Video Editor-- it's free, and soooo much easier to use than WMM. I love it.

I don't know of any programs that let you edit .flvs to be quite honest. Most of them used to let you edit .mp4s but then quicktime updated and bugged it all out, so....

A very good free converter is Format Factory though. It isn't just for video conversions either. It also converts audio and it even rips dvds. It's pretty nice for freeware.

If you can get on a Mac (I use the ones in the school lounge), iMovie let's you edit .mp4s without any conversion stuff, though it's not exactly lossless quality coming out.
