HABITual Correspondence
If you've spoken with HABIT, tell me here!

Hey all!

So I was thinking of compiling all of the gchat/other stuff communications with HABIT (unless it's already been done, at which point we can let this topic die). He's been known to drop some clues, so think they might be good to have, for reference points.

I haven't spoken with him, but check the news thread-- I think a couple conversations have been posted there.

Hey everybody! Lets make more unnessecary EMH threads to clog the Slender Man Mythos Forum!

Seriously though, lurk more before posting. Confused

Although I am not as familiar with these forums as most people, it seems from the EMH should have its own sub-forum threads that this was indeed suggested by the moderation/administration/staff team. Whatever they are. Indeed, they suggested a similar format to the marble hornets format, which WOULD clog up these forums. Also, I agree that this would be useful. The few recorded conversations seem scattered across the news and tournament threads, with a few buried in the general thread.

No. I say, just remove the unnecessary threads. That's it.

Admin types told us to make more threads instead of having one ginormous one. We're just doing as we were told.

This would probably be a good place to round up those conversations, then we can see if it would be worthwhile (I think it might be) to create a page for them on the wiki. If they don't get their own page, we could at least put the useful information on HABIT's wiki page.

Define the unnecessary threads? And the general discussion thread is nearly 1200 pages long. Not practical to wade through anymore, and putting the contents of the other threads would do nothing but make it even more polluted.

And now, the HABIT posts from the news thread.

Cougar Draven wrote:
Don't know if this counts as "news" per se, but from a GMail conversation I had with HABIT, regarding 151, 152, 153, and 160:

HABIT: THE 50s PROVED TO BE INEPT.
160 WENT THROUGH WITH THE FIRST TRIAL.
HAD AN "INCIDENT" AT THE SITE.
PROVED TOO MUCH FOR HIM
VOLUNTARILY REMOVED HIMSELF.

I really need to stop doing this sort of thing. Some HABIT-related news.

Quote:
me: Hello again. (#224.)
HABIT: HELLO
me: How many more fellow Rabbits made it in before 10?
HABIT: WE'LL SEE, WON'T WE.
me: I do hope so.
HABIT: HM.
me: Oh?
So how's the weather wherever you're at?
HABIT: GREAT.
me: Nice. Snow here, it sucks.
HABIT: STORE YOUR MEAT IN IT.
me: I use it for soda and beer, actually. I save space in my fridge that way.
HABIT: NATURALLY.
me: About the only use I can find for snow is that it makes Christmas lights look cool.
HABIT: GREAT TO STRANGLE.
me: Yeah, I would suppose so. Never tried it myself. I prefer my machete. (Though right now it's only really useful as a digging tool. Really need it sharpened again.)
Also, should I address you as HABIT, or do you prefer Mr. HABIT?
HABIT: DON'T ADDRESS ME.
me: Fair enough.
me: One of my friends (who apparently didn't make the cut) would like to interview you. What shall I tell him?
HABIT: INTERESTING.
FOR WHAT.
me: I'm asking him.
He says he's curious.
HABIT: WHEN.
me: Again, I'll ask.
HABIT: OKAY.
me: He says tonight, tomorrow night, or Wednesday, after 11:30 PM Eastern. At your convenience.
HABIT: NOW?
me: I suppose he did mean that, yes.
HABIT: PROCEED.
me: Shall I have him contact you directly, or would you prefer me to be an intermediary?
HABIT: THAT WOULD BE FINE.
me: That is a very nonspecific answer, but I suspect that's intentional.
If he can contact you via Gmail chat, I'll have him do that, otherwise I'll have him give me a list of questions.
HABIT: ALRIGHT.
me: He says he's attempting to chat with you, but that he's not getting anything. If it helps, his Gmail username is [REDACTED].
HABIT: HM.
me: His first question, since he can't get it to work is "What should I call you?"
HABIT: YOU KNOW MY NAME.
me: He says he prefers to be called Agnol.
If it's all the same to you.
HABIT: OKAY.
me: "Then am I to assume that HABIT is your name?"
"Because that feels more like a title. Or perhaps an article of priestly attire."
HABIT: I'M MANKIND'S BAD HABIT.
me: "Again, that seems more like a title than a name. I've been known to go by CXVII, but that's a title, too."
HABIT: ALRIGHT?
me: "Either way, moving on. How many applicants for the trials were there?"
HABIT: 231
me: "I meant how many people emailed you, not how many were chosen. I mean, I submitted and application, but I wasn't chosen. So there must have been more than two hundred thirty-one."
HABIT: OH.
me: "And was their any real criteria for choosing who of the applicants was and was not chosen?"
HABIT: HUNDREDS.
PERHAPS THERE WERE.
me: "Are you willing to share any of these criteria?"
HABIT: NO.
me: "Fair enough."
"As of this point, how many have been disqualified."
HABIT: AROUND 70.
me: "So, you seem to be having some problems with technology?"
HABIT: BRILLIANT DEDUCTION.
me: "Also, you mentioned that you're HUMANITY'S BAD HABIT [sic]. Does this mean that you do not predate civilization?"
"Eh, I'm not a fan of twitter."
HABIT: IT'S UP TO DEBATE.
me: "See, I think you and I have somewhat similar feelings about Twitter, although probably for very different reasons."
"Well, if you predate humanity, then you must have been something else's BAD HABIT [sic] at one point."
"May I call you Mr. H? It sounds friendlier, and has less misplaced capital letters."
HABIT: WHATEVER YOU WISH.
me: "Mr. H, were you, at any point, a BAD HABIT [sic] of anything other than humanity?"
HABIT: MAYBE.
me: "Have you appeared on camera in any of the EverymanHYBRID videos?"
HABIT: I'VE BEEN EVERYWHERE.
me: "In the interest of clarification: Have we ever seen a physical appearance by you in the videos?"
HABIT: NATURALLY.
me: "Any chance that you might give us a hint as to when we may have seen you?"
HABIT: ABSOLUTELY NOT.
me: "Eh, I figured."
"Might you tell us which videos we should look in? (Forgive me is this is unnecessarily redundant)"
HABIT: NO.
me: "Is HABIT the only name you're known by? (disregarding my calling you Mr. H)"
HABIT: I DON'T KNOW WHAT PEOPLE CALL ME.
HABIT: I AM LEAVING.
GOOD DAY.
me: The same to you.

HABIT is offline. Messages you send will be delivered when HABIT comes online.

There are a few interesting gems, especially towards the end there. Questions provided by Agnol117.

This is what I had remembered -- no need to get cross, Hatter :/

Besides, I checked the news thread and there's only one conversation (the one Cowsquid posted), of which I've made a note. And even being on break, the official thread is so bloated, I wouldn't even know where to begin. But I KNOW there are more out there....

Also, TNC, you totally should. I proudly voted for you Very Happy.

I've had a brief conversation with him. However, for fear of my life and fear that he lurks here, I'm gonna have to say the conversation was classified.

We've tweeted at each other.

I think he wants my spleen in a jar.

Oh yes, please! You can redact any personal information, of course.

Also, LK, you are an inspiration to us all.
