 		The Answers to MH?!
...Or not.
I'm fairly new to Unfiction (hey, everyone has to start somewhere) so I don't know if this counts as OOG, whether it has anything to do with ANYTHING, really. But it seemed big enough that I wanted to share it.

About four hours ago, on Facebook (I spend a lot of time there, orz) a person by the username Slender Mann posted this to the Marble Hornets fan page:

"Time to drop a few bombs on the Marble Hornets series, I suppose. Troy was a friend of mine from back in high school, we got drunk together a few weeks ago and started talking about the project. Currently here's what he's got fleshed out.

Slenderman is attempting to take J's body. He's weak and needs younger flesh to su...stain himself, the MH cast were the first set of victims, but they proved a bit stronger than he anticipated.

Masky (both of them) are in the final stages of being taken over and absorbed into Slendy. They wear the mask as homage to their faceless master. The pills are supposed to weaken the mind and make the process easier. Alex was the next to go, though he was able to fend off most of the process, and was in the end killed by Slendy. (entry 29)

The black out was a period J spent as a fellow Masky. (we didn't get into too many details but apparently he did some fucked up shit while wrestling with his own sanity and was on the news once - that's why Jessica knows him).

What I was surprised by was his comment. 'Half the series has been fucking red herrings, just throw out puzzle like bits and they eat it up. All the real stuff has been obvious shit.'

They're still not fully decided on what they want ToTheArk to be. Originally they wanted him to be an escaped masky trying to guide J but it got out of hand and eventually they just started using the channel for creepy filler vids. (Hence why Slendy is in a few of them). Troy said they'll likely end up casting it off as if Slendy got ToTheArk halfway through."

About three hours later, they posted this in the comments:

"Mainly, his statement was to say they are just playing it by ear and they have no idea what they are going to end up doing. And the best way to keep people interested is to put in an "OH SHIT, IT'S SLENDERMAN!!!" moments every few posts. Really, it's a bit of a farce. A good premise, and a good idea, but should have been thought out more carefully before dragging it on this long. I'll talk to him again soon, and post what I can get out of him concerning this. I'm sure you'll find it interesting."


Quite frankly, I don't believe a word of it. Anyone could have gone onto Facebook and typed this. And I don't think Troy would really feel so little toward the fans' involvement with MH. But I kind of figured it might have some discussion value to it....or whatever. :/ Have at it.

I'm fairly sure Troy already stated that the Facebook accounts are nothing to do with MH or it's creators.

That said, whoever posted that does seem to have come up with a pretty credible explanation for a lot of things. At very least what he posted would make a decent ending

I'm just hoping I don't regret reading your post, too much sleep has been lost for spoilers.

 		Sounds completely plausible, though whether it's legitimate or not is impossible to determine. Doesn't really matter.

 		If this were really a revelation based on what Troy told this guy, I'd expect more actual spoilers. This offers an explanation right up to the latest Entry, but nothing specific after it. It also leaves a lot of blanks.

The poster seemed to realise that too, judging from the follow-up post you said they left, which suggests the whole thing is pretty much unplanned and ad-libbed. Seems to me too much like an excuse to gloss over all the loose ends without having to explain them.

No, my guess is that this is a (slightly cynical) theory someone's come up with, and they've passed it off as being from Troy himself to make it seem more credible.

Seriously, it was interesting for a moment, maybe even somewhat plausible, but echoing a few others' statements above, this isn'y very Troy-like, IMO. I don't see him getting drunk and revealing sensitive information to an old high school friend (who, based on 'his own' description, clearly isn't still very good friends with him) about an alternate reality story that you don't tell anyone about outside of the cast. At the same time, Troy and Joe clearly have a lot of respect for their fans a) to take the time to make this series (despite admitting how taxing it is on them) and b) to keep coming to us through interviews and blog posts about the finer details of the series. You don't put this much blood, sweat, and tears into a series that's just a huge red herring / distraction / online performance piece / joke.

Definitely a crock of bullshit, although if any of the stuff in the beginning turns out true (Slendy wanting a human body, etc.) I wouldn't be too upset. It's a neat concept, at the least.

Also, this... (It was posted right before I posted, and I agree wholeheartedly.)

 		there.....were a few inconsistencies in that post.......if J was in the 'final' stages then his memory wouldn't have disappeared, and the Masky wouldn't be following him. i think it's pretty obvious that totheark and the slender man are two separate parties, TTA has a certain agenda and nothing we've seen has shown that SM has any reason to have human followers.
