Picked up Midtown too.

YAY!... and perhaps not quite so yay.

It was.... a long day to be sure. I woke up at 3 AM, was ready by 3:50, and out of town by 4:20.
Make a long story short: i'm 1/2, just got back home a min ago, and it's 8:30 PM, and i think both were live calls!

Elaboration:
Went to mobile first. THe greyhound bus station is confirmed. the first bank of four payphones inside the station has the same #'s as the four listed on payphone-directory.org. The first phone listed is the one that rang, and it was close too. The place was congested, and i was wishing i had fabricated some "temporarily out of order" signs. ^_~

In any case, it rang right on time (it just seems that my clock is slow), and then she threw me for a loop. i embarked upon my pilgrimage with someone's post in mind that the question would be "what's my fave game" ..... this was incorrect. I did happen to get a crystal clear recording of me sounding like a dunce, and her terminating the convorsation.

Dothan:
it was hell getting there from mobile.... roads were out, gas stations out of gas, people in traffic were out of their minds.... i could go on. In any case, what was supposed to be a 4 hour trip along I-10 (and if i never see it again, it'll be too soon) and US231 north. The detours ended up adding an extra two hours.

I phoned a friend (used a lifeline!) and asked her to access the forums and check to see if there's been an update while i was out.
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5886
Leave it to Giskard to find the answer; it's just too bad that it was updated after i couldn't check it personally... D'OH!

In any case, the Dothan axon went of beautifully. SHe asked me to sing stormy weather for her after confiming that it's her fave song. LOL! When i again failed miserably, i think she took pity on my by singing it (rather prettily i must add) for me. She was amazingly gracious, even though she did appear to become quite distraught at the concept of reincarnation... it seems she likens it to the process of having human memories forcefully placed into an AI's memory matrix. It also seems she has some repressed angry/upset feelings about how the process transpired for her. She actually went into an angry/fitful "ilovebees" tirade for me.

In any case my dear fellow beekeepers, i fear i'm quite tired, and will now lose consciousness. I'll do my best to post a succinct transcript tomorrow. *yawn*

(PS: and the "J" in my sig does indeed stand for Justin, the name i gave to melissa)

*hugs the genie* i wish i could help... and hey, if i say i'm gonna make another 10 hour journey, maybe the PM's will take pity on me again and hand out some more live calls. ^_^
If ya wanna take a road trip to Dothan, AL, i'd be happy to hand the (Mcdonalds: 1081 Ross Clark Circle) phone over to you.

BTW, i've always enjoyed your posts Genie. Such lovely/interesting descriptions.

Well, the axon directory is updated.

It looks like I might be at every Atlanta one. I may not get to midtown in time (it will be close) and I an wondering if I can get from the Perimeter mall to the perim 2 location in time, but Yeah. I'll try.

Also of note: the perimeter mall calls are now all one minute apart (or in one case, at the same time.)

Also, our adopted axon in Dothan is the first call of the day. Smakus, you planning on getting that? if so i'll give you a way to contact me so I can post the question.

Ensign Justin is verily on it!
Despite a previously mentioned inability to sing, i'm eager to try to communicate with melissa again.
Unfortunately, they changed the times for the calls in Dothan and Mobile in such a way that it'd be impossible for me to attempt both in one day. -_-
Nevertheless, i may go for the Mobile Axon on Wed of Thurs. It all depends on how/when i can finagle my time off.
Edit: Have had contact with a conscript from Mobile! Will make descisions accordingly. /Edit
Regaurdless, Dothan on Tues is a definite affirmative.

I certainly hope someone has a good guess as to the possible question/answer by then. *crosses fingers*

BTW, since these two this axon seems to be fertile fodder for a live call (just a spec on my part, it was a magical day for me and AL): if anyone has a dire need to have a chat with mel, my previous offer still stands. If you're willing to make the drive, i'll certainly be willing to make the hand-off.[

They've moved the Perimeter axons back to around 4, so I'll be able to make it. Now whether I can answer 3 phones at once is a different story. But in any case, I'll definitely be camping on the food court phones this time. I'm gonna be a member of the crew before it's all over. I hope.

FYI: If no one else is claiming it, I'm planning on activating today's Macon axon. It was live last week, so imiagine there will be nothing special about it this week.

I'm hitting MoGA this evening for 5 axons.... I called JT Taylor (who was with me & Vortech in week 2) to see if he can lend a hand, but got no confirmation from him as of yet.

I'll let you know what happens later on Smile

OK. I'll try to get out there to help you, but running up 85 at that time of day may take longer then the PMs gave me to get from Perim #2.

I just got in. (I work in Warner Robins about 30 mins away)
Here's the story, I answered the phone and was asked my name and rank as usual. She then said that her crew gave her a nickname and wanted to know what was mine. I gave it. She wanted to know how I got that name. I gave the reason. I'll give a transcript later.

She then said that it's possible for me to be on her NEW crew but she had a test for me. She asked if I was to deliver a passcode to her. I said no. She then said she wanted to test me and to come up with a 7 word phrase that begins with my name.

I came up with
Robogriff is reliable dependable intelligent and hansome

She said that she wants to hear that passcode at another axon within an hour (9:47PM was the call)

Since I work so far away, I phoned the passcode into gkhrone (my co-worker) and he was to post it for all to see.
