@Poopnate, I don't really have the time necessary atm to do anything elaborate to catch you up (I don't really have the time necessary to play this thing right now QQ), summarizing everything from the start would be kind of hard to do anyway.

The best I can do is point you to this page one player had made but has since stopped updating. I think he gave up on it around the time of the magnifico pages: http://www.timothysmurphy.com/hatshoe/ so this is all the pages/source codes hints up to about May of this year which translates to ~ pg 60 of this thread. Reading from pg 60 might seem less daunting hopefully. Good luck!

@Zagaan, I'm glad to see an old-timer back in action!

This makes me think having an organized way of asking questions might be more effective with HS in clarifying some concepts like a communal list to check off/fill in answers.

Hmm... good questions nonetheless filbert.

I may be a bit late, but has anyone done any investigating on the Twitter that this 'Hatshoe' created for his neighbor Carl?

Edit: and again, I may be late on this one, but has the youtube channel connected with this ARG been found yet? If not, it's wearerofthehat.

Wiki

Has anyone started a Wiki site for Hatshoe yet? If not, I'll start one, but I haven't been following since the beginning, so I'll need editors that will help fill in information that I wasn't here for.

If you ever get one started up feel free to post it here or pm me as I would be happy to help fill it in.

Oh man, a wiki would help so much - I was in on Hatshoe nice and early but I've totally lost track! Even the homepage has changed since I last checked it!

Btw, anyone interested in writing an article for my weekly ARG report about Hatshoe - maybe in the new year? Theres some details in my sig if you are.

Got an image reply a bit ago to something I sent HS in late October.
the text
Quote:
The components might be individuals. not all of them.

The image I sent him was named brewed.jpg btw
and I had asked if the components were related to vectors. Then if they were part of a word or object.

I found , uh, something guys... there is a video response to "n" (I haven't watched that since it was posted is this new?) of an opossum and the user that posted it "fendahlman" has a "project tulpas" blog as his website. http://projecttulpas.blogspot.com/ one of the posters there has another blog http://eidolaandangeli.blogspot.com/ and the comments of this entry:http://eidolaandangeli.blogspot.com/2010/02/introit.html mention hatshoe directly as well as Diespiter and "of trueshadow" (verumbris perhaps?)

It appears fendahlman has been commenting verumbris as well O.O (see Domicile Forensic)

I'm assuming this is some sort of game jack as one of the blogs had a quote from House of Leaves in it but who knows. I may just be biased against house of leaves.

Since things on HS tend to disappear and change, I'm gonna continue to preserve the new posts for posterity.

Clarification:

Drink (pretty hilarious):

Creatures:

Clicking on "breaking" leads to pictures of dead birds:

Clicking on "making" leads to a trail of pages. The first two are pictures of small lizards apparently making sweet lizard love:

and

Clicking on the lizards leads to another trail of pages with videos (which I downloaded and put on tinypic...links below):
"Make"
then
"Fake"
then
"Bake"
and finally:
"Lake"

Under "Lake" is a hidden link that says "Still don't remember?". Clicking it takes you to a 404 page which is http://hatshoe.org/It Was You.

Gah. Also...I finally received a response to an email I sent about a month ago after "Utterances" and "Hollywood" were posted. In the email I was referring specifically to "Utterances":

Quote:
HS,

Stoked on the updates, sir. How have you been?

Sounds like you've had your share of weirdo roommates, which is a pain I know all too well.
I once received a note stuck to my door with a somewhat sticky Bud Lite label that said "YER CATS GONE." And underneath was a frowny face.

This little Hollywood riddle has got me scratching my head.

What do we do with the answer if we figure it out?

Oh yeah...and what ever happened with the "index" page you said I could have if it remained "uncontested"? Just wondering.

Last night I received this, entitled "Mute.jpg:

In case you can't read it, the note on the box says "found yer cat" with a smiley face. Awesome.
Dicking around with levels reveals this:

which reads, as far as I can tell, as follows:

Quote:
I realize now that I was looking for allies I had. They'll know how to regain.

And at the bottom:

Quote:
A courier approaches

I'll post speculations a little later after I've had time to process all this. It's early and I'm only on my fifth cup of coffee.

Keep in mind that the real question may be "WHEN is the here?"

@Poopnate - if you do decide to start a wiki, pm me your email address. I have absolutely everything saved as .jpgs with text files denoting anything hidden in the image or source code because apparently I am an insane person. I have most correspondence images since September saved as well. Speaking of which...

@Zagaan - Glad to see you back. In the past few months we've discovered that correspondence plays a huge part in this whole thing so if you have the time, it would be awesome if you could go back through some of your old emails and post them. You never know...it could help.

And now the obligatory message which I keep forgetting and should really just set as a signature but for some reason haven't.

For anyone just finding this forum:
PLEASE POST ANY CORRESPONDENCE YOU HAVE WITH HS HERE.
HS deliberately spreads out clues amongst people to encourage teamwork. I am positive many crucial pieces to puzzles have been emailed but lost in the abyss. You don't have to participate in the endless speculation, but just dump what you have. It'll help. Thanks!

it's part of a trail of pages that starts on "terminus". no worries. it's a hell of a lot to take in when you're just starting. welcome, though!

Yeah...It's been bugging the piss out of me. I mentioned it to him in an email mid-october. However, I made the mistake of getting impatient and sending another email a few weeks later (the one to which he responded last night).

Just a heads up since you just started - a huge part of Hatshoe is patience...if you write more than one email to HS, he tends to only respond to the last one (when he gets around to it....sometimes the next day...sometimes a month later). Also, if an email has more than two or three questions, he tends to only respond to one or two...usually in such a way that you can't tell which one he's responding to. The best approach seems to be to ask one clear, concise question and hold your ground until he responds. It really sucks...but it seems to be the only way to progress.

EDIT:
Meant to post this earlier...New WoC tweet:
Quote:
The paper boy saw it too.

@GoingUp
By the way...considering one of the rarest and most incredible astrological events this century took place last night/this morning and there was not a peep from HS, I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the theory we toyed around with a few months back about the posts somehow coinciding with astrological events is busted.

Just tossing that out. Back to the drawing board....the maddeningly blank drawing board.

Sorry for all the posts but just found something.

On "drink" HS talks about the spelling mistakes so I tried something that has never worked for me until now...

http://hatshoe.org/bortle.html

Which reveals this:

Pretty great.

Anyway, checked levels and b/c for anything hidden but alas, nothing. Just a cute "easter egg".

EDIT:

Haha...same deal if you type http://hatshoe.org/hetshop.html
