This is probably a long shot, but has anyone ran some of the sound distortions through a spectrogram? There are free softwares out there that encode images into sound and vice versa. Who knows, might find something freaky.

This actually sounds like a really good idea, but where would one get the software to run sounds through a spectrogram? If you know of a site with a good program it could at least be fun to play with.

There's a free program called "Spectogram" that I had downloaded over a year ago. I did a little searching, and I think this is the link to the program: http://www.electronics-lab.com/downloads/pc/003/index.html

I found this program here, http://www.sonicvisualiser.org/

Tick Tock is upside down, meaning, it could be meant to be read upside down in Advocate.

Is it possible, d'you guys think?

What's supposed to be braille?

The collections of 0's and -'s. In my mind, each - was meant to be a 'bump', where as all the 0's were meant to be flat.

I realized two minutes after I posted this that [see above edited post]

Yeah, it's already been determined that it's a binary clock, as the "tick tock" implies. It simply counts down from 10.

Going to lurk the topic... I think some of this needs to be revisited, particularly the musical aspects in light of the rhythmic tapping in recent entries. I'm trying to compare it to some previous work I did to see if there's any match.

For the record, there is a unicode-braille-code-thing that uses an 8-dot braille. Not that it would be terribly helpful. I just thought I might bring it up.

This is a response to Entry 9. Was he telling us to look closely at this in particular, or just in general?

The wikidot is incorrect in regard to what the Morse Code translates to. It's G K and O, not Q. The 11x11 "/" square flashes three dashes. This is interesting because:

On a keypad...

G = 4. Press 1 time to get it.
K = 5. Press 2 times to get it.
O = 6. Press 3 times to get it.

1 2 3 4 5 6. Look closely at entries 1-6? Are there any other numbers in here?

The sound played backwards has 5 notes in it which rhythmically are 1/4 1/8 1/8 1/4 1/4, and the notes when written according to their place in the scale are 1 3 5 8 7 and by note are B D F# B A (according to the recording I worked from, http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RHETO6HE).

Honestly though, I think the song excerpt found in this may be a red herring. The numbers however are quite easy to see.

Looking at Deluge...
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

I think the flashing lights may be Morse code. However, I think the entire videoclip could be in reverse. The light swells the wrong way I think. Also, there seems to be three speeds, short pulses (.), slightly longer ones (-), and quite long pulses (letter breaks). I'll do what I can to help out with the decoding. However, this whole Morse Code angle relies on TOTHEARK's ability to edit video. I don't think he can control florescent bulb pulses:p This should be helpful. It's a 1/4 speed version of the Deluge video: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/files/morselights.wmv

Also, here are some helfpul code breaking resources:
