Haven't got a problem with anybody hating on religion though, there are many reasons to do so.

Noah clearly is amazing tho.

I'm an atheist! Very Happy And no, I am not bothered by Noah's comment on atheism. It just made me laugh (along with his response to 'Are you religious?').

Also, these questions and answers sound awesome. I am going to check this out now.

I respect his opinions, to be sure. I'm an atheist, definitely not a Buddhist by any sense of the term, though. I just believe in what can be proven.

However, when you get right down to it, someone who identifies themselves based firstly on what they do or do not believe is an incomplete person who can't think of who they are in any other sense than how they compare to others. So I completely respect the way Noah answered the question.

Plus, he quoted someone I'd never heard of before now. SO I LEARNED SOMETHING WTF.

Also Merry Christmas to everyone! I won't be online tomorrow at all, I shouldn't think.

He's already answered just under 500 questions in little over a day, most being trolls. Now that's dedication. Wink

About 33% of French citizens, 25% of Germans, 20% of UK citizens and 10% of Americans (USA) claim to be atheist. And so do I (and Cosmogyral too now, stupid captchas!).

Strictly speaking, you can be buddhist and atheist at the same time. being atheist means just not believing in any god. Buddhism works pretty well without gods, so...

Buuuut we're OT.

Um, no, you can't be Buddhist and an Atheist at the same time. I am Buddhist, I thought I was an Atheist for a long time (almost 10 years) until I realized I believe in Rebirth. Atheism is the belief of no god and no afterlife. Buddhism doesn't really mention a god (I think there is literally only one mention of Buddha's view on a higher power) but they do mention rebirth as an afterlife. Rebirth is a main principle to Buddhism. So if you don't believe in Rebirth, you're not a Buddhist, you're an Atheist. There is Atheistic Buddhism, but, if you look at the main beliefs of Buddhism, it's another philosophy altogether.

Wow, did I get off topic. Um yeah, Noah is funny. I think the whole Atheist comment was to the Atheist types on the internet, a lot of them are close minded and ignorant. BUT! I also know very open minded Atheists, so yeah I get where he's coming from.

Noah just tweeted that he may soon be able to get in contact with Milo's step-father.

Wonder what we'll find out this time. I suspect it'll be another "Grandpa Karl" kinda episode.

Off-topic: Theravada Buddhism is nontheistic as far as I know, so it's entirely possible to be both Buddhist and atheist at the same time. Atheism isn't a system of beliefs, is simply not beliving in a deity/deities, so it's perfectly compatible with nontheistic religions.

But ending the derail: I guess we're going to see another new character soon. I'm not following Tribe Twelve as closely as MH or EMH, but I hope this isn't too similar to the update with his grandfather. It would seem a little formulaic, but I'm looking forward to finding out more all the same.

This is just me personally, but I enjoyed the hell out of the Grandfather Karl episode. Totally awesome.

Oh yeah, I really liked it, too! I just wouldn't want to see the "sit down with family member, listen to story" thing again if it was too similar. Regardless, I am interested in whatever the stepdad knows. It's probably something useful since it's coming after a lot of new mysteries.

All I'm saying is that if Noah wants to have someone scream insults and obscenities at him in German for another ten to fifteen minutes, I'm all for it.

Now I want Karl to come back just for that.

If TribeTwelve ends with Karl and his old service rifle having a showdown with Slendy to save Noah's soul, I will give it more props than currently exist in this universe.

Wrong

Atheism simply means "rejection of believe in a god or gods", you can have ANY number of other supernatural believes and still count as an Atheist. In fact the name itself, "Theism = Believe in a god/gods", "A theism = WITHOUT believe in a god/gods", nothing more than that.
You confuse "atheist" and "rationalist" here, I am an atheist myself AND a rationalists as I have NO supernatural believes but there are many who do have.
Buddhist and Atheist are NOT exclusive, you can be a atheistic Buddhist and you can in fact even be an Atheistic Christian if you only see Christianity as mythological and non literal.

That idea of atheism being so "radical" is an old misconception really.
