I made my brother a box with crazy writing on it, covered in Operator symbols, for Christmas and I acted like it was from Slender Man.

I'm the best sister ever.

But in reality, a note saying that he owed him 20 dollars. Followed by maniacal laughter. :3

You of all people should know this, Alpinu.

Too much chocolate and a bacon sandwich before bed does not a dreamless night make:

Last night I dreamt I was walking my dog across some fields with my Mum, Sister and Girlfriend, we came to a bit where there is a tonne of tall thin trees to the left of the field and there, of course, was Slenderman.

He was HUGE, taller than the trees, probably taller than a 3 story building, and he was hunched over so that his head was lower than his shoulders and he was shuddering and twitching. My family decided it would be a good idea to run towards him, of course I was shouting "Noooooooo noooo" (my girlfriend confirmed I was actually saying this in my sleep), I thought they were done for.

In fact, as they got closer he got smaller and smaller until he wasn't much taller than me. When we reached him, the skin around his "mouth" split and he grinned this wide toothy grin, and then I beat the crap out of him. At one point my sister stuck a lollipop to his head... fun was had by all.

I wish I had your kinds of dreams. My dreams are always either boring, or the stuff that surrealists paint pictures of, or end in me getting eaten. Or occasionally a combination of the three.

Strangely, though I've never had a Slendy related dream.

1) I can no longer deal with leaving window blinds open. I keep waiting for him to peek in at me.

2) I have a black cat who is marked on the chest like he's wearing a suit. He likes to sit in the window as I pull into the driveway. I can barely see him in there, and it creeps me the hell out. I wish I was joking.

3) I got some kid at the gym hooked on Marble Hornets, and I think he's alot more freaked out about it then I would have liked. You'd think that I would feel guilty about it, but instead, I finally picked up a mask from Michael's yesterday. I'm gonna scare the piss out of that kid. I suck. Twisted Evil

Even though I was reading SA something regularly around the time MH was first posted, I didn't really know about it until a couple months ago. And even though, I didn't actually sit down and WATCH it all until this week (always late at night, too), since I am on Vacation in Florida. This might be more closely related to Tribe Twelve than MH, but still...

Two nights ago, I noticed that I was starting to get a cold/cough.

And today my flight back home was cancelled at the last minute.

I'll let you guess what conclusions I was drawing.

I felt so much like I needed to make an account for this thread, so I will tell you about a strange dream I remember having at a young age. This was long before Marble Hornets, about eight years ago, when I was eight years old.

I dreamed that a very tall, thin man with no face, (Slendy) with his back to me, was standing about 10 feet in front of me in a white void. There was nothing anywhwere except him. I felt confused, and sick. I was coughing and it felt like my lungs were going to explode. He turned to me, and spiders began to appear out of nowhere, (I'm an arachnophobe), and started to follow Slendy as he walked towards me, slowly. I was paralyzed with fear, but then I woke up and began vomiting up blood. I was taken to the ER that night, and it was confirmed that I had had a nosebleed while I was sleeping and it had ran down my throat into my stomach.

Wow that must have been pretty harrowing!

There are theories about why the idea of slendy is so effective: in that he covers most of the basics of fundamental characteristics that we find disturbing. Namely, a featureless face, pale skin, elongated limbs, the features crop up again and again in horror movies and general folklore.

For example, the Pale skin: monsters in Descent, Michael Myers (Halloween), the Rake, Vampires in general, The Pale Man (Pan's Labyrinth) etc etc etc.

There is a creepypasta which concludes something along the lines of: what is there in our primordial past which would evoke such terror from these qualities? What nameless horror used to haunt our ancestors to such an extent that would imprint an instinctual wariness in reaction to monsters which bear these marks? Must be something pretty terrifying. Lets hope, whatever it is, isn't still around, eh? Wink

Good to have you on board.

Wow, that sucks.

Remember that Slenderman was created out of a combination of things that are generally (at least in American culture) considered scary/creepy/whatever. That's why it's such an effective nightmare: It reminds us of everything we were already afraid of.

I dreamt that I was in a house and Slendy was stalking me, he eventually found me and yes, he did, he split my stomach open in two and ate it...that was one night I don't want to remember.

Definitely scary, that's for sure. However, I haven't had any dreams about Slenderman other than that one. Nor am I afraid of woods or anything like that. Just spiders, man. They're creepy.

I had a really disturbing (to me) slenderman dream, although it really wasn't much compared to the ones before me. But I was in a house that I didn't recognize, but I knew that there was something wrong, and I was running from slenderman. Then I ran into a room that I had convinced myself that slenderman couldn't enter. There was a glass sliding door and it was dark outside, making it into a mirror. I looked at my reflection, saw something behind me, and looked backward to see the light go out. When I looked back at the window, standing exactly where my reflection had been was slenderman. It freaked me out so much that I woke up before he opened the door, but I did know that that was going to be his next mood.
