Slendy hasn't been very kind to them throughout his time in the series though.
But it could be a lesser of the two evils sort of scenario.
Though, Slendy did more or less save Fairmount Vincent.

Has he? He's lurked around creepily and made them paranoid, but the only time he's actually physically hurt one of them was, arguably, in self defense. Evan charged Slendy with a baseball bat, and Slendy stopped him. Didn't kill him, though. And there's some indication that Slenders has been 'helping' in his own way-- the hospital fire after they rescued Steph, for instance, which meant that they wouldn't get caught. Hell, even his possible kidnapping of Jessa could be his idea of helping, if he thought that Jessa was a threat for some reason. Same with Jeff'n'Alex's parents, if you go with foglet's theory about them being removed by Slenders.

I'm starting to think more and more that Slenderman might be protective of the EMH gang. He's not very good at it, what with the causing madness and paranoia and possibly kidnapping/killing loved ones, but... he might be trying to help. Which is, in a way, almost scarier.

So if Even had been trying to hug Slenders...

I have to agree in that Slendy in this series may not necessarily be a malevolent entity. Which brings to mind a worrying thought: since Slendy could at least be well-intentioned as opposed to the openly malicious HABIT, does that mean that if the two end up conflicting at some point, Slendy winning would be the better outcome for those involved? Oh dear.

Already making "Go team Slendy!" t-shirts and "Slender-man 2011" political buttons.

EDIT: "Slender-man: Thinking of the children" seems like such a nice slogan...

I guess that's true. It depends on how you interpret him. If you interpret his actions from a human perspective, he hasn't been that kind.
But he's not human. From Slendy's perspective, he could be trying to help.

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

FUCK YEAH BITCHES I FUCKING DELIVERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

*breathes heavily*

OK...

So a while back, I wrote a post on here... which was basically me saying this:

Anonymousity wrote:
Yeah - it's pretty funny that both Animal Collective and Deerhunter have ben around for ages, but only now seem to garner a bigger following, after a couple of albums.
That is especially interesting if you know how big labels nowadays work (which is: "trying to make the first single of a star hit #1, then try to get his LP to hit #1, with him being abandoned a year later")

MOVED:
Regarding the theme and the music, I... well, I listened all day to Deerhunter again.

For those who don't know who Deerhunter are, check out their Wiki. They are the most interesting band when it comes to lyrics and actual backstory (just for an example, the singer suffers from a genetic defect and had to spend almost his entire age of 16 in a hospital).

Anyways, I wondered why the EMH crew didn't use these guys as of now. Their lyrics are very close to what is going on right now. Dr. Glass, Hazel St., Helicopter, Agoraphobia...

The Fluorescent Grey EP especially...

YouTube: Link

Maybe it's just the link to a traumatized childhood/being stalked by a weird kind of doom that reminded me, but I'd be damned if they'll not turn up in one of the future videos. There are so many references to dying, trauma, children being taken away to some unknown destiny (their album Cryptograms ends with a kid singing "I was arranged to leave on that day" and a voice answering "Was not seen again").

Shit is as close as a soundtrack as anything could be. Maybe that's why the guys din't use it as of yet?

Just my two cents...

and...

Anonymousity wrote:
Jeff, if you are reading this right now, you should probably know...

So yeah, awesome thing. And, as I said previously, something that could potentially spawn a whole shitload of theories.

As I mentioned in the above post, pretty much the entire catalogue of Deerhunter is based on childhood trauma (read up Bradford Cox and you see why. Think Marilyn Manson got messed up when I was a kid?), their new single is basically about a gay teen-porn actor vanishing and probably being murdered under mysterious circumstances.

YouTube: Link

So that also leads me to believe that the children from back then ARE linked both to the monsters and to the crew due to their personal traumata. Once we know their inner "demons", we know how to fight their ACTUAL demons. Twisted Evil

On a related note, Bradford Cox (said singer) spent his entire 16th year on this earth in a hospital, since he suffers a weird gene-deffect. Below is a picture of him with 15 - the cover to his second solo record "Logos" (which, yes, means THE WORD):

And yes, this is not photoshopped, asked him in person about it.

So we have this guy here with a terrible illness that takes a huge toll on his body, leaving him a very tall, thin adult, traumatized from childhood. I wonder if the Rake is what would have become of Cox if he would have gone down the "other" road...

Don't know if you guys caught on, but Jeff was TOTALLY foreshadowing someone getting offed with his whole "Characters dieing in fiction" mind-fuck last night.

and don't forget his whole spiel about us "real folks" dismissing characters AS fiction when the deaths happen to save ourselves the pain of mourning over them.

'course, i immediately wondered if it was some weird stage in his grieving process over jessa, then wondered if yet another mindfuck was going to come at us regarding reality/fiction and how those worlds interact.

epileptic tree: jeff is trying to distance himself from jessa to make her absence hurt less, possibly culminating in delusions on the scale of alex's.

(also, if memory serves, there was mention of a ustream in the near future, so....eee....)

What?
Fuck man. What else happened last night?

Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if someone died. Terribly upset, but not surprised.

Nobody died yet, but somebody may VERY soon.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He also said that they we're going to take back Alex's room soon, so there's your possible killer.

Dude, PLEASE BE SPECIFIC. Laughing Cool

So what exactly did he say about dying characters?

I'm currently formulating a theory due to the Deerhunter song: I THINK that this is a hint that - indeed - there is a link between the monsters and the trauma.

The priest wanted Vince for himself - and was killed by Slenderman, who wanted Vince for himself.
The Rake inhabits a space - just as HABIT seems to inhabit Evan.

Gentlemen - I am sure we've not seen all the monsters yet...

...Again, we live in the same time zone, yet he can never do this when I'm awake -.-

Is there a log of this? I wanna read exactly what was said.

Well on that note there has been mention that each has their own demons, Linnie has the Rake, Vince has Slenderman, Evan has HABIT, etc.

So for those of us not in on the Angora Chat, what happened?

I don't really remember much of it (2:00 in the morning, mind you), but I remember Jeff talking about a uStream in the near future and that we should email him a list of question ahead of time.
