The people working at Area 51 (or wherever this photo is from) don't necessarily need to be military workers. In fact most of these facilities are maintained and staffed by defense contractors, of which entry level is lab technician. Also, there is a quite large defense research contractor in Columbus, OH who researched and wrote project blue book (the official US Govt inquiry into UFOs).

If we're talking about race, which doesn't seem to matter at this point anyways... For what it's worth, all the main cast listed on the IMDB page are white.

Even a mention will be gratifying for the ARG crowd... In every major one I've played they threw some kind of connection in the movie, even if it was just a line or a cameo.

While waiting for recruits to keep rolling in, I've been Minkering around and came across this Italian website with a story from November that includes a picture of actor Richard Jenkins. It questions whether he has a role in Super 8 and/or the ARG.

If you compare the bottom of his face to the bottom of the standing man in the Josh's dad photo, it does look similar. Here are the pic from www.everyeye.it and the face bottom from the sties photo:

I googled "actor richard jenkins" on their images search engine, and there are similarities.

Jane Smith could probably overlay one of those photos with the "photo" posted at STIES for a viewable image?

I considered the things you said also. One thing about the sties photo is that the man is looking down at a slight angle, which makes it difficult (for me at least) to make an accurate comparison. I don't know if Jane or sup can use their photoshop magic to compensate for the different angle. I can overlay them but cannot change the angle view. Shadows, grains and other effects in the sties photo make it tricky too.

start pulling screen caps and overlay it. i found a clip where the actor is pretty much in the " lookin down to the right" stance. hook it up.

I would agree with most of you that have tried the overlays yourselves that although there are similarities with Richard Jenkins, the detail and angle of the sties shot is a difficult base to compare to.

I will just say When "i do" over lays i see some similarities Mr . Jenkins has a similar frown line pattern and distance between the lines of his mouth. Similar not same.

I also see diffrences as to where Mr. Jenkins lower lip and chin appears flat and in the sties photo there appears to be a bump.

Now having said all that if I over lay the photo and adjust the transparency and rotate the face, I can make it look like anyone.. so for look sake here is a simple side by side.

I personally don't think its him but anythings possible.
