The massive load of Slenderblogs is getting annoying.

I have to admit, I am finding the mass amount of blogs annoying. It sucks, particularly because it's turned me off doing a Slenderblog at all. Though it does make me think. I have to wonder how many people there are like me who have ideas, possibly some unique or engaging ones, who simply get disheartened by the masses of sheer crap flying around. Couple that with relative isolation from any other Slenderfan and a lack of time/money and I'm actually really disappointed.

Now I kinda wish there was a place to go and dump my ideas for others to potentially use, cause god knows I'm not gonna use them now Razz Also, I hate it when blogs that appear to have some good ideas going dry up and simply cease to exist because the PM gets bored or busy or something.

My most major beef is that "generic stalked by Slenderman & driven insane, then killed" won't work any more unless you do something different with it yet within the realms of sensibility, simply due to the mass flooding.

I was going to write a story... not a blog on it... but in the end decided I didn't have the right kind of knowledge of Slenderman to do it... but once I did all these slender blogs popped up and decided not to do it...

my formula was..

"Man starts out crazy, and starts stalking Slenderman"

So mine would have been different I suppose, but now its just best to sit back and watch EMH and a few others progress...

Mine was going to be set in Australia. There was another blog posted here which was set in Australia, but I don't think it got far enough to determine if it was even a Slenderblog or not, so hey. I had many, many ideas that I have to assume are completely unique as I have yet to see them on any blog I've read, which is why I may give them away to some group that thinks they could keep up a blog/vlog.

I was actually going to do an entire video series. But not for a while. Probably not until after Slendorama dies down and it'll be fashionably late and the indie slenderfans will be all "hay he's bringin' it bakk"

I kind of hate hipsters but I know my fan base

Really? Because that one kind of threw me for a loop after LAZORZ. I was willing to roll with the black-box-style 'I don't know how this really works, but here's what I think it is' anti-Slendy force-field. And the fact that said force-field got broken by Slenderpuppets. Really, that was a nice touch. Adds back some of the desperation most good Slenderblogs have a sense of.

Dude still needs to explain the point of the lasers. Are they there for the sake of being cool, or what?

Hrm, I know that this place is for ARGs and CFs, but at the same time I can't help but think that maybe I'd like to read some more traditional stories about him. Actual stories, no pretenses of being real. Third person, inner monologues, all that jazz. I wouldn't want to see a flood of stories like that, and we never would get that because it doesn't have the visual nature of the vlogs, nor the commenting interaction of regular blogs. But still, one or two would be nice.

I really hope that with the new Marble Hornets stuff, they have it set up so ToTheArk is actually a good guy, or has some completely untapped backstory that we didn't think of, thus making all of the blogs that copycatted the idea completey wrong. For that matter, I hope that they clarify/disprove a lot of the speculation that has been photocopied into the blogs just to quench the fire a little.

Some of the stories inspired by Marble Hornets are excellent, but yeah I think it would be awesome come-up-ins for all of these blogs leaping in without a story or original idea. Smile

I actually did this. I wrote a story about Slenderman. It's short, it's sweet, it involves no one but him, really. It's less story and more anecdote, maybe, but...I enjoyed writing it, and I did what I wanted. *Shrug!*

Yeah, I just kinda would like to see a thread that compiles links to actual stories, not just blogs and vlogs. Just as much as blogs, if not more, stories could really enrich the Mythos in my opinion, and shouldn't be ignored.

I enjoyed White Rabbit Asylum, A Lack of Lexicon, A Storytelling of Rooks, and in particular, Watch This City Burn/Dreams in Darkness. White Rabbit and Rooks were surprisingly well-written. Lexicon had A, who was a smartass prankster that was very interactive, so I loved that.

Yeah, A even made fun of my FailSlenderBlog with His twitter.
It was called Nowheretohyde.

Its still on A's page.

I figured I'd dump my idea here too. I quite liked it, because aside from it being a bit different, it gave a really easy opportunity to promote it on here without pulling a 'Found a blog! Totally not mine!'

The background is something I've seen before in the mythos, which is that through the minds of people following this myth, the Slender Man was actually created in reality. And this is what would have happened. The main character would be a genre-savvy kid who follows all of them, MH, EMH, TT, JAF, etc. And then the Slender Man starts stalking first his girlfriend, then him. He realizes that there's pretty much nothing he can do to stop the Slender Man killing either him or his girlfriend, but he knows that if he or she die mysteriously, and one of their close friends or family starts to investigate what happened, the Slender Man will come for them, too. So his blog would be about him trying to hide any evidence and clear the trail, to say goodbye to his family and make sure they never found out or even got the chance to look into what happened. And the way to promote it on here was going to be a really pissed off thread linking to the blog, saying something like 'This is all your fault. The least you can do is see the f*cking fallout.'

If you start on this, please, send me the link to it. That sounds like a fantastic take on the conventions.
