Guys, seriously.

If Lacey Chabert and Sarah Chalke are the voice actors for the Axon clips I will wear a beard of bees for a week and then eat them.

File all this under "wishful thinking".

Or file it under this promotion is for the biggest product MS Games has done EVER, and microsoft has the cash to hire these actresses for an hour's worth of canned wav files. It would be far fetched to say they are the live actresses, though.

Aside from that, video game voice acting is losing its stigma...James Earl Jones, Eve, Michal Douchoveny, Michal Ironsides, Snoop Dogg, and a host of mobster actors, and other well-accomplished actors have played parts in video games in the past (XIII, Red Alert, GTA3, True Crime, Splinter Cell)...some of them even as video-captured ingame characters. And that list is just off the top of my head.

And let's not even get into the whole CGI movie idea...how many top actors are hired by Pixar for each movie?

Dreamin, this ain't.

Agreed,

One voice actor that stands out in my mind is John DiMaggio, the voice of Bender on Futurama. His list of game voice over credits is extensive, including the Chronicles of Riddick game.

Yeah, it is. The main reason that companies get TV/Movie actors for voiceover work is name recognition or intellectual property. Since there's no cast listing for an ARG, there's not much name recognition; add that to the fact that there's no correlation between any of the people you've named and the Halo/Bungie IP's. This speculation is tenuous at best.

Now, if you tried to tell me that maybe they had hired famous radio personalities, I'd buy into it, but why would you shell out for higher-budget actors when (1) no one really knows it's them, and (2) people who do voiceovers more regularly would suit better? It makes little sense at all.

It's been spec'ed many times that these are the voice actors from Red vs Blue -- they are not as big-name, and they have a closer tie to the Halo IP than the people you mentioned. Occam's razor, anyone?

Lacey is pretty hot, if it's true that she did the voice. But does anyone else find the Jan J. character incredibly annoying? I know I do. That voice just pierces right through my brain. Coupled with her being way too sarcastic and smart-ass, it drives me nuts. I wonder why she hasn't got a good slap from her dad yet. Talk about patience.

One that bugs me is Sophia. I've could swear I've heard that voice before but I can't place it.

Sarah Chalke, voice of Ellie on "Scrubs." My wife and I are 98% sure (and she doesn't play ILB).

I am 100% sure it's not her. My wife watches Scrubs religiously. Sophia's voice is just a bit deeper and has much more of a smoker's rasp to it. Accent is clearly the same, though.

I'm thinking it's someone I've heard on radio commercial voiceovers.

Although I agree, I'd really like to see you lose that bet. (searches for a bearded emoticon...)

I'm fairly certain that the VA who plays Jan is the same girl who did the girlfriend in Medal of Honor for xbox. I was watching my boyfriend play last week, and I had him go back over the "letters from home" sequences over and over again. Needless to say, he thought I was a dork.

I think it's Olivia Burnette, but I'm having a hard time finding a clip of her voice as an adult.

I'm positive it's either Heather Locklear or Oprah Winfrey.
Rob Schneider is J^2 and Rosie O'Donnell is Durga.

Man, I hate to engage in pointless and impossible to prove spec...

Wait, no I don't.

My vote for Sofia's voice is whoever plays Tex in Red vs. Blue.
