To those who have opened the Kuku...
Is the clue listed above worth paying attention to?
IT'S ALL ABOUT GRAVITTY AND FICTION
Did they mean "Friction"?
I am stumped on this one... But congrats to those who have conquered it.

My Kuku puzzle doesn't give AT ALL when I push on any of the segments. I believe it's obvious how it eventually opens (each segment slides away from the center), but no matter where I press or push or slide I cannot get the puzzle to move even a tiny bit.
I am assuming that the puzzle won't give until things are aligned properly (the insides), but once this is done, how much force is required to get some give here?

Once all the innards are lined up, it should slide apart(at first) quite easily, albeit slowly.

There's a solution video on YouTube. It involves the use of... rolling paper?

interesting, i'm going to have to check that out. i wonder if the difficulty has anything to do with it. i also find it odd that there are lots of videos for the SW puzzles, but no one shows how to solve chris' puzzles (this includes Ramisis and Revomaze)...

There are three places in the puzzle where pins can be, but it comes with only two pins, unless you specifically ask for a harder version with three pins.
The "easier" and "harder" versions have nothing to do with the number of pins -- the "harder" ones are simply much, much tighter (meaning you can't use the rolling paper trick). Either version becomes harder-than-hard when upgraded to three pins.
I've solved an "easier" and a "harder" one. The "easier" one feels like it could fall apart before it's solved, and paper is easy to insert if you want to solve it that way. The "harder" one was so tight that I had to jam a knife into one of the vertical slits and pry it open once I got the pins moved around correctly! (Paper was not an option for this one, obviously.)
In my opinion, the "easier" version is a neat, fun, well-constructed puzzle, but the "harder" version is crap -- it's probably a manufacturing default or a beta version or something, but they decided to sell it anyway.

I've been trying for weeks to get this thing open.
I've had a look at the "rollingpaper" trick, but my kuku is too tight and nothing can get into those cracks... not even air or water.
Any advice about how to open it? or could it be defective since it clearly seems to be tighter than normal.

I have the same problem.
I have tried to open 3 KUKU puzzle (mine and friends') and they all behave the same, tight and can't get rolling paper into the slits, just like yours
Is it possible for all 3 to be defective?
I know how the inside look based on the youtube videos. Looks like the pins needs to line-up exactly mid-way to unlock it. I've been shaking and trying to wiggle them apart and nothing. Will anyone explain what's the technique to get all the pins mid-way? Is it all about luck, like it will eventually line up and release after wiggling it long enough?

I somehow missed "anonymous1"'s post. It seems we both have the hard/beta version.
I guess I'll have to find something thin and incredibly hard object to put in there... a knife won't do because it is too thick and might damage the metal.

kuku I dont think there's alot more out there thinner than sigaret paper.
The different versions only had different amounts of pins in them.
Even without the pins the kuku still doesn't open up real easy.
Try to pull it and look if theres one side that opens a little more than the rest and put the paper in there. Then continue with the other sides.
