haha this is hilarious Laughing but great Smile
I'm one of those early adopters - heard about the xbox a year before PS2 released, and decided to wait on the PS2... endured the torture and ridicule of being an xbox supporter, for 2 years, and I picked up the box on release day with Halo, of course. Xbox Live comes around, already pre-ordered, picked up on release day with the launch games (thus easily got my name gamertag with no conflicts). Half my friends have xbox parties now (*cough* Halo LAN parties), and own one themselves, and I haven't heard of ANY PS2 parties... even from guys at work who are still pro-ps2... witnessed a number of conversions to xbox, and quite a number of dual-supporters (I greatly respect these people).

My how times change Wink

I now have 2 xboxes (only replaced the launch xbox once when the network socket didn't work when I bought Xbox Live) - regular black, and the LE green box. Preordered 2 copies of Halo 2 - regular and SE/DVD, both paid in full.

Anyway, not once have I used this ARG to try to market the product... I'm just playing it Smile but seeing its effect on people sends tingles down my spine Smile

As for the clan, I think the best start for now is to do the group thing at bungie.net. Join the "The Beekepers" group at bungie.net. It keeps a record of your gamertag already as well, you just need a .net passport associated with xbox live goodies and/or bungie.net.

I was one of the slightly luckier ones. I got to be a part of the xbox live beta. Getting my tag was no problem, finding a good game to play during the beta on the other hand....

yes, ditto Smile about halfway through the beta test process. I remember being a part of the xbox forums, waiting to get that green ball as a beta tester by my name Smile

I also was one of the lucky few to get a whole bunch of xbox (magazine) paraphernalia from the OXM on launch from a survey I believe it was that they had people fill out... so long ago... *sigh*

Here's the link to the Bungie.net beekeepers clan (courtesy of "most wanted" weephun a few pages back):

http://www.bungie.net/fanclub/beekeepers/GroupHome.aspx

If you can get a gamertag like your ILB name, that would be nice, since everyone will know who you are.

Also:

Well, since Halo 2 will be Xbox only for the forseeable future, EVERBODY will have the same "aimbot". (Which isn't much of a 'bot, according to those in the know.).

Definitely. Can you even turn it off? I'm guessing you may also be able to control whether or not it's on when you set up private-type games, so everyone will either have it or everyone won't have it. No arguing about it, then!

Oh, and for the record, I also have the big "duke" controller.... Wink

Mrs. Was purchased mine as a surprise gift for no reason whatsoever, other than her extremely high "cool" score.

She's regretted it ever since. Smile

I'll be online playing, but I might not have time for an organized clan. I could probably do some practices and a few actual matches if time permits. I think it's a great idea, though.

Prolly won't be able to join a clan, but keep an eye out for Lynara (or Dragonrider) and Fenris that first week. Thank GOD Battlefront came with a free XBL setup for some period of time...

See ya there, Beekeepers!

It did take my wife sometime to get used to it though i had to keep buying games that she would like and play. And then slowly buying games that i enjoyed you know games were i blow up stuff

Haha, all too familiar. My fiancee used to hate my games. Especially Halo, since I spent a lot of time playing it. I showed her a few game demos, she liked the Fusion Frenzy demo on the Halo disc. So I got it for her. We played that for a while until it got boring.

Then one glorious day I actually talked her into playing a game of multiplayer with me (I was gentle with her the first few times. Razz), and she slowly became hooked. A few months later and she's asking me to play a level or two of Legendary co-op before we go to bed.

Since then she's been addicted to TopSpin, BloodRayne and Fable. It's a beautiful thing. Wink

After I get through playing Campaign mode (you gotta know what happens!) I'll be online playing with everyone. I'm loving the idea of Apoc. Crew vs SPArmy (friendly inter-clan wars of course, we're all Beekeepers Smile)

/EDIT/ Just joined The Beekeepers group. =)

I'm definitely getting Xbox Live when Halo 2 comes out... and count me into the clan.

Halo (and Halo 2) make full use of a surround sound setup; make sure you pick up the "Advanced AV Pack" (or the "High Definition AV Pack" if you have an HDTV) to make the digital audio connection to your receiver.

It still could work. I think, for me, the point of a clan is not so much to go and play against other clans, but just to play with your clan (team v. team, FFA, whatever) and know that everyone in there is pretty cool, that no one's going to be a jerk and start yelling at people, or swearing, or pouting, or killing their own team, etc. If we get enough people, it will just mean there are always cool people online we can play with, and we won't have to worry about 12 year olds screaming into the headsets in high voices.

(Apologies to any of you out there who may be a non-screaming 12 year old ...)

ON a random site note, I was paging through the FABLE manual last night, and I noticed there's a Halo 2 ad in the back. I read it, and--while I don't remember the entire thing--it basically says that no matter how bad-ass the Master Chief is, he can't protect Earth alone and he will, in part, need help from "unexpected allies."

Spartan 1-point-ohs, anyone?

Edit: Bad grammar! Bad!

While you're at it, get the HDTV projector projector and screen

I personally have the 2200 and the 10ft diag Draper Luma. Lowest cost of the bunch and it still looks AWESOME! Much easier to snipe when the other person's head is BIGGER than life-size!

Yeah, I saw that, too. It's evil how Bungie messes with your head. There's Spec that the Elites and Brutes don't fair well together, and there might be some hostility between them in-game. There are a lot of possibilities; the other three Spartan 2.0s, Spartan 1.0s, Elites or Brutes, or some other races that haven't been released yet. 39 days.. so close, yet so far away.
