OK, so after i get my poster/cd in the mail, I find the poster is damaged. After 3 emails, I get a response and after 2 weeks, I get my replacement poster today. And guess what, the poster is damaged again. Lets see what happens this time with my email...

Yeegads. Let me know if you need assistance; I have an email address of a director at Topspin that I can send you, if needed. (NOTE: He only really got their customer service to start responding, not that it was any more helpful...but you never know...)

Well, I got an email from Topspin already and my message is being forwarded to someone at UMG. I will post more when I hear more.

The UMG rep who was responding on my customer service ticket was utterly clueless, provided clearly conflicting information to me, and never rectified the conflicts after I pointed them out to her. Mad

Good luck. Confused

More TopSpin/UMG fun

So, mine was damaged, and I contacted them for a replacement. I got an email on the 22nd saying it was going to be shipped, and I got a tracking number. The package never actually went past "waiting for pickup," and now it's been canceled, according to UPS. I contacted TopSpin again thru the site yesterday. I'll see what happens.

BTW, soundrack: we forgot about Separate Ways - Journey and Sweet Dreams - Eurhythmics. I think they should go between Encom Part II and Recognizer.

Actually, the same exact thing happened to me. I had a UPS tracking # since 12/21 and yesterday it got canceled by the sender. However, in my case, I got a complete refund from them because I gave up with trying to deal with their incompetence.

I'm surprised that your replacement would be canceled since you weren't in the same boat as I was...

They are shipping me a third poster now. We will see how this one comes. If this is damaged, I am requesting a refund, even though I should still get one for all these hassles.

For the people who received damaged posters I have a few questions. Hoe badly damaged were they? Did you have to send your originals bacK? If not anyway I can take 1 off your hands for you?

Okay, this is utterly ridiculous.

I just received a replacement poster from them. Shipped in the same size tube that the first one came in. I opened it up and, sure enough, THIS poster is damaged, too. Moreso than the first poster. Again, no protection to keep it from slipping around in the oversized tube. The poster seems to be of a heavier weight paper than the first, tho.

The most ironic thing? The label on the outside of the shipping tube telling you to be careful when removing the poster. Sheesh.

Yeah, same here. They don't get that they're shipping the posters in too big of a tube.

Basically, as far as how damaged they are, it depends on the poster, but what's happening is the posters are sliding back and forth in the tube during shipping, badly crushing the paper on one or both sides. The damage can be pretty severe. And considering we payed $40 for a CD and this poster, I don't think it's too much to ask to get a poster where they figured out how to ship the darn thing.

If they'd a) just put some padding in there to keep it from hitting either end, or b) oh, I dunno, ship it in a FAR smaller radius poster tube, this wouldn't be an issue. This is like a 4 inch diameter poster tube or something. It's CRAZY big.

I just got my second one, which again surprised me because the tracking # was canceled by the shipper 2 days before I got it. It, too, was damaged, but thankfully, not as badly. I might be able to get it framed, have them matte about 3/4 of an inch, and it won't be noticeable. But it still sucks. These guys clearly don't know how to ship posters.

I was working with bthompsonSPLATtopspinmedia.com for assistance after their customer service was slow to respond. He contacted me after I sent email to infoSPLATtopspinmedia.com complaining about lack of response from their customer service.

I havent had to return damaged posters so far, but again, I am waiting till this adventure is over with before I figure out what to do with the damaged ones. I may still go for a frame with a matte to cover the edge damage.
