Ahaha...we got another kloo cos we are also stuck in the mud *understatement* Laughing

Wallace in an email wrote:
Amandel,

Louise just came back from Airsofting, she wasn't exactly in a good mood
something about mud and big hills. However she did say that she worked
out what the password is, apparently it is bloody obvious she doesn't know
why she didn't see it before. Here's the rub she won't tell me, says I
should be able work it out for myself. Asked her for a hint at least, she
took her time but said and I quote "The Future is the key". She also
muttered something about Bob being an obvious SciFi fan, just look at his
books.

It is funny I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something important which will
lead to the proper answer.

Oh well I will have to move on, I'm going post about the issue with the
password, hopefully Bob will be reading it and give us another clue or
something. With a bit of luck it won't be too important.

Have a good day.

From the BlackBox Crumb (The Future) have tried various combos of "Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country" with no joy.

I was able to get the password, thanks to the email Wallace sent Amandel and for the comment Amandel made on that last post...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the movie Star Trek VI, a toast to "The Undiscovered Country"
- "The Future", is made by the Klingon leader "Gorkon"; gorkon in lowercase letters is the password.

How we were suppose to get that from the books is beyond me... Anyways, it is a .wav file.

*eta - I guess the real hint to the password was the binary code, which translated to "unentdecktesLand", which in turn is German for "undiscovered Country". I guess, the pictures of the books, was just pointing out that Bob is a Sci-fi fan, maybe telling us that Undiscovered Country referred to Star Trek (The Future) and not Hamlet (the past). Dunno

Good work enaxor, I came across ST VI in my search, but I would have never found the answer. Kudos!

Very nice, ModalRealism, 'tho am honestly not hearing much of what you spoilered except "transmitting" which you have 100% clear. Maybe as I speak German I do hear your " Kassen" still followed by "Sonntag" which would be funds Sunday

Loose Ends

Thanks. I think we might be getting somewhere, but where?

The following are from Bob, what do they mean?

10awaw - tec fef.txt (10awaw - effect?) led to Youtube video "615 Music - Past Worlds"

1929 - Last Known Event (from mapio.txt)

In the "six" folder:
"flux echoes" from the a_ab.txt,
darlun.1-66.jpg (The Fortean Times issue, but why?),
"udc_med_cg".wav (undiscovered country_med_gc)

In the "seventy-seven" folder:
"2-ft104".jpg (The Fortean Times issue, but again why?),
RightRoll (Rollright Ley?)

The other Youtube video from map.txt: 30 Seconds to Mars: From Yesterday

The Welsh: mapio(mapping),
chyfnertha(help),
seiniau(sounds),
alli chlyw ai gwrandawch(you can hear or listen),
alaw i mewn at 'r egni(tune into the energy),
alla chyfnertha ch(I can help you),
orbis(circle),
'r Chysgadur(The Sleeper)

Other: "Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross, To see a fine lady upon a white horse, With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes, She shall have music where-ever she goes"

And this is from Wallace: "pen" and "hertz"

Just thought I'd jump in here. Been reading up on the thread, since it seems like an awesome story, this. I hope you don't mind.
After listening to the file I'm getting this:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

tests, tests, testing, testing, detonee,
digest
transmitting castle alive
sentence 41

Now... I have no idea what this means, but I just thought it might be of help in the future.

[Update] Case Files Blog

Wallace has updated his Case blog. Apparently he had a visitor today.

An online lass called Enaxor cracked Bob's password protected file, appears to be some sort of sound file almost impossible to understand. Though I'm sure with a bit of cleaning up it may become easy to hear, although the first part sounds like: "This is...". There is no way I would of got the password not being a Trek fan and Louise knows this.

Had a visitor today, one Lewis Style says he a representative for an energy consortium though he was less than clear about that. I took an instant dislike to him as soon as he walked into the office, I knew he was going to be trouble. He was wearing at least a grand's worth of suit, one of those people that always has impeccable hair nothing out of place at all and a really annoying smile. He is interested in the whereabouts of the Professor Maad, why am I not surprised. The consortium is interested in the professor's work. I think I was less than polite about my clients privacy and sent him packing. In hindsight of course perhaps he may have been able give me some useful information.
Style left his card which I promptly threw in the bin. Louise fished it out when she heard about my day after picking me up (my car didn't want to go today), she says she is going put it on our Contacts page so can I email him easily when I'm in a better mood. Hell I didn't know we had a Contacts page.

Contact page was also updated with an email link for Lewis Style: LewisStyleSPLAThotmail.co.uk

Funny that Wallace knows I'm a lass, most people assume lad. Wink

Lewis Style

Just emailed Mr Style and instantly received the same email (mine to him) split into pieces over 8 messages. Maybe if I count the number of characters in each message I'll get something.

OK, I'm confused. (Again) Here's what I sent Lewis Style:

Mr Style,

I understand you are trying to contact Professor Edward Maad. I am also hoping to find Prof. Maad. I understand

Thank you

PS. Have you seen his friend Robert?

So ooooooooooo Sorry

Seems to have been an email glitch on my end. Please ignore my tediously long posting. Sad

I've just got a reply from Lewis Style. I have posted the whole conversation below, but to sum up: he wants to trade the password for the ecrypted hacker file for information. I suggest that we decide in here what information we want, before anyone goes trading the password?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

From:
To: lewisstyleSPLAThotmail.co.uk
Subject: Energy consortium.
Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2011 20:30:23 +0000

Dear Mr. Style.
I am a friend of Wallace and Prof. Maad. He has informed me that you have been visiting him, but he neglected to inquire about any information you may have about the whereabouts of Prof. Maad. If you have any information about him I would be very pleased if you would divulge it to either me or Wallace.

Best regards,
Zhirgoyt

Zhirgoyt,

Mr Wallace appears to have number of friends with regard to this case. I have information of all sorts what would you care to know exactly?

Please remember of course that I happen to believe that nothing comes free so I'd expect something in return. For instance what is the password to the zip file that the hacker
uploaded on the 6th?

A simple quid pro quo, I'm a nice guy not looking to rattle any feathers. My employers are merely looking alternative solutions to the oncoming energy crisis, just business.

Lewis.

I'm would say that we are interested in what sort of alternate energy Maad was looking for? Might shine a light upon things?

I dropped Mr Style a mail in the hopes of gleaning a little more about his intentions, see below:

Dear Mr Style,

I am a student studying at Durham University, I am hoping to do a final paper on the rise of "alternative energy". I wonder if I could trouble you for your opinion on the subject?

I would appreciate any help you can give me,

Sincerely,

Will K

--------------------------------------------------------
Mr Knight,

Alternative energy is the only way forward my friend. This the season to be green and green is big business even if it costs more money. The end user wants to feel that they are doing
their bit for saving the planet. The problem with most alternative energy sources at the moment is that they are costly to build, wind farms for instance how long before they become carbon negative since most are built using non-green sources. How long does it take to make an actual profit?

Have you heard about wireless power? No cables required. Imagine an energy source that doesn't require a costly infrastructure to deliver it? How much cheaper would that be for the end user?

Of course there would be still maintenance required which is where you make a profit, nothing is ever completely free. Wireless is the way forward.

Lewis.

(emphasis added)

I suppose this is what Maad was working on then? Wireless power?
