Well in the flash back you hear a scream and some crunching noise. I was led to believe that he may have smashed his face or something, and thats why he's always wearing the helmet and it's making that buzzing noise. Just a hunch. Also, if Tron was left conscious there is no way Clu would have got him to the Rectifier alive in my opinion.

 		yes rinzler is tron its very obvious tron has two discs in the new tron and the symbols and he knew sam was a user because in other words he fights for the users

What's obvious is you didn't read any of the posts in this thread before replying. With the release of the movie we all know Rinzler is Tron. This was a question asked when the first trailer was released.

but if tron is such a good light disc fighter, how did CLU beat him in the fight that led to his derezzing/repurposing, and again later when he easily just snatches the baton for the light jet. CLU just flew over and plucked that thing off Trons belt like it was no problem

I think the point is more how strong Clu is.

Because he didn't use the disc =) he bunny-hopped on his back which CLU took advantage of to take him down. Razz

But ya, what gaz said - I think CLU is the most powerful 'program' next to Flynn within the system. Flynn's a user and the creator, so in theory CLU is as Flynn-like as possible in every way except there, bound to the rules and capabilities imposed by the system.

 		Flynn made Clu from himself, so in essence, he's a clone to a point, Flynn's memories and skills would be included. Just have to compare Flynn's & Clu's speech's about the other world. He's close to being a user, so an unfair match for Tron.

Also "you wouldn't know that when I created you" during the Clu & Kevin talk clearly implying they shares memories up until Clu's creation.

Not to forget reintegration of Clu & Kevin being the only way for Kevin to end Clu within the grid.

The word reintegration means "To restore to a condition of integration or unity", so implying Clu & Flynn were at one point, one.

Like I said, look at their speech's, "in there is our future" by Flynn & "out there is our future" by Clu, how could Clu know?

Enough evidence?

I guess it depends on your perspective. I view Flynn/Clu more as apprentice/image, and you view Flynn/Clu as dark/light/nemesis. I dare say we're probably both "accurate" LOL. And no, I am not a politician...
